Subject: what's the speed of a Valkyrie deep striking?
|

hello there!
does anyone knows what's the speed of a Valkyre (or any other vehicle) entering in the game using deep strike?
if a troop deep strikes it's considered like it was moving but what about vehicles that have different speeds?
where I can find this rule in the manual?
Thanks in advance!

Cruising speed. It's in the rules for deep striking.

You can still fire all of your weapons when you land since it's a fast skimmer. Also gets hit on a 4+ in cc.

Wrong on both counts. A fast vehicle moving at cruising speed can fire one main and all defensive weapons, and any vehicle moving at cruising speed is hit on a 6+ in assault.
edit for additional information: What you said is consistent with fast vehicles moving at combat speed, but the vehicle in question is moving at cruising speed.

Do deep striking vehicles really come down at cruising speed? I thought they came down at combat speed...

I think it comes down at YMDC speed, which is just one step below ridiculous speed which makes you turn plaid.

Cruising speed. This is why you can't fire a Deathstrike Launcher from a Space Marine Drop-Pod on the turn it lands. It's not a Fast vehicle anymore, and it moves at Cruising speed, so it can't fire any weapons.
Valks have the edge, being Fast vehicles. The move at cruising speed coming down, then fire like a normal vehicle that only moved at Combat Speed (1 St5+, and all defensive Str4-). The will be hit in CC on a 6+.

Yes. It's in the rules section that deals with deployment by deep strike. After answering a rules question incorrectly and subsequently being corrected yourself you are posting this question. Did it ever at any point along this sequence of events occur to you to look up the right answer?
Sorry about picking you out about this, but I see too much of people falling all over each other to answer questions when they don't know the answers themselves. I know you're all just trying to be helpful but it's really counterproductive.

The speed?
Vulture or Valkyrie?

"I drive a big car, cuz I'm a big star. I'll make a big rock-and-roll hit." "I am a big car, and I'm a strip bar. Some call it fake, I call it good-as-it-gets."
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent. |

I'm sorry I made the mistake... I ever so humbly beg for your forgiveness... it wounds me to know that you think I can't look up a rule... deep... deep down...
