Subject: female servitors?

Looking through my sm codex and I found this passage 'The creation mysteries for servitors vary from chapter to chapter. Some are grown from human gene cells in artificial nutrient.Others are failed neophytes, criminals or futitives from chapter law'
But all the models and artwork depict only male seritors?
Just something I thought of.

Servitors are mostly male anyway, for a number of reasons: 1) Just because there are only Male Models, does not mean there are no Females in the Fluff. I can't recall ever seeing a Female Inquisitor Model, but there are plenty. 2) Grown Humans in a vat would most likely be Asexual or Modified to be Such. Better to never grow Balls than need them removed later. 3) Failed neophytes are by definition Male Only (NO THERE ARE NO FEMALE SPESS MAHRINES!) 4) Criminals: Well, have a look at today's world. Which Sex gets the most Death Sentences? No surprise there. It probably is a cultural thing, after all, being a Servitor must be considered worse than death. 5) Fugitives from Chapter law: Who exactly can be a Fugitive from Chapter law? Normal People are so insignificant it cannot be them. More than Likely they are Individual Space Marines who have gone rouge and, because it is a waste to execute them, they are transformed into servitors to serve the chapter. 6) Servitors go around moving big heavy gak. Yes a Measure of their Strength comes from Bionics, but only so much. Not to mention it is expensive. better to have Servitors who are as Strong as Possible so as to reduce the cost of the bionics. Which Sex has the Higher Muscle mass? Males. However, none of this (bar the Failed neophytes) precludes female servitors from exsisting. it just makes them really, really REALLY rare.

There is a very old GW OOP Female Servitor along with a Squat Servitor and a Male Servitor. So yes there are female servitors.

There are female servitors, they were in a few of the books i have read. They are almost never heavy work servitors, they either employ secretary, assassin (or otherwise agility based work), or concubines. Because in the 41st millenium there is only war, and hookers.
As an example there was a personal servitor who worked for one of the female nobility who served as a maid and a journal.

I also know a book where there was a female servitor, acting as a kind of ambassador for a Hive Ruler to the people.
It was Guants Ghosts: Necropolis by Dan Abnett.
P.S. If you were rich enough to get a servitor concubine then wouldn't get a real one instead?

I would take a guess and say that most servitors are either neuter (if grown) or neutered (if converted.)

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy. |

How do you know the models aren't female?
Some servitors are ex-criminals right? And their bodies have obviously been mutilated to turn them into something "usefull"
So it stands to reason that their chest cavity might be removed to make room for a power unit (or other mechanical gubbins) and we have no idea whats under their servitor shorts. Plus being bald means nothing.
So there you go. Your techmarine's loyal servitor Bob has been Bobette all along and you didn't even notice.

Good Luck, the Force is Strong with this One. You should talk to Doc Thunder.
Yes, there are female servitor models (horrible, hideous things they are... and I don't mean the concept art.. the castings were awful), like there are female Space Marine models. However, by showing one, you will induce people throwing screaming fits that basically amount to a No Girls Allowed! sign on the outside of the Space Marines codex.
Space Marines... and they shall know no fear... save getting cooties.

One of the biggest problems with the models comes from GW's scale distortion. GW models are "fat" your average Cadian's arms would be larger then Swartzinegger's if the cadian model was scaled up to full size. (when GW makes their "my size SM" they change the proportions)
This kind of "Thick" human model works fine for guys, but tends to look a little odd on female models.

So is there a chubby-chaser-gamer out there working on a thicker female servitor?
I would imagine that there could be some cool looking ones though. Personally I could see Shirley Manson all done up in mech-gear with a piston arm and a huge hammer in the other. She has the face for it and it would certainly be interesting, whether or not it's fluffy legal.

What are you going on about? No one has said female servitors can't exist. No one. (Also, chauvinism does not mean sexism. It's just any over-the-top/jingoistic support of something.)

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me. |

I was talking about the Female Space Marines, not the female servitors. Both were early, and horrifically bad, castings.

Oh. Well no offense, but your grammar in that case was confusing. Servitors were your primary subject, and then you switched it in between sentences.
