The Armoured Company Rules are so outdated they came on Stone Tablets.

Really, it's true.

If you wanna go for an Armoured Company, use the new IG codex, take lots of Infantry platoons with Chimeras (or vets if you are poor ), Hellound Variants for FA and Russes Galore for HS.

There have been a few attempts by players to draw up 5th Ed rules for the AC, but GW has not issued anything yet. We'll see one once tank model sales start to slide. Expect a chorus of screaming about imbalance shortly thereafter.

3 Chimeras? You can fit 47 Chimeras, 9 Hellhounds and 9 Russ into a Guard Army Nowadays (and thats one FoC )

I think he's looking to fit 47 Russes, 9 Hellhounds and 3 Chimeras.

Use the new IG codex. It has all the tools you need to field an armored company.

obliterate: Yes, you can. Take a look at the codex, it should get you as much armour as you need. Seeing as how you can take 9 Leman Russ in 3 FOC. For max LR action in 1850, I would recommend something along the lines of:

HQ
CC Squad 50

TROOPS
InfPltn: Pltn Cnd Squad:30
Inf Squad: 50
Inf Squad: 50

InfPltn: Pltn Cnd Squad:30
Inf Squad: 50
Inf Squad: 50

HEAVY SUPPORT
LRx3: 450
LRx3: 450
LRx3: 450

That's 1630 with 9 Leman Russ, basic chassis. 220 points left for upgrades, or mount those foot sloggers in chimeras if you want. Or maybe some AT since this list seriously lacks it, but that's not what it was designed for is it?

Oh, BTW, Gwar. That was a gak comment to make to someone, especially on their first post. Maybe mummy and daddy have given you all the money you could desire to fund your little toy soldier habit, but there's no reason to rub anyones face in it. I hope someone is there to remind you of gak like this when you actually have to start working for a living, you little leech.

The Armored Company list was written for 3rd Ed, and is actually newer than the Space Wolf and Dark Eldar army books. The reason that no one ever tries to play Armored Company in 5th Ed. is because it is a terrible list: It is incredibly strong against bad players, but it is unlikely to ever come close to winning against good players.

Fortunately, as has already been mentioned, an "Armored Company" style-list like this can be made using the current IG Codex. It's fluffy while being far more effective than the old Armored Company list. Infantry is often attached to a Tank Company. If you're looking for an entirely mechanized list, I would take veteran squads instead of infantry squads. It will make a much more effective list; the BS 4 and extra assault weapons really synergize well with the Chimera's 5 fire ports. Normal infantry squads aren't really worth mounting.

Consider throwing in a Hellhound variant or some Sentinels, too. Both are the sort of elements that are often attached to a tank company.

... if it's that bad, then the rest of you have been safe for too long from the godly power that is me, since my old AC company was 75 wins to 20 losses against 83 different players. Or are you implying that the majority of 40k players suck?

Are you finished waving your E-penis? Good. Now, as I read it, the worst he could be implying is that 55 of your opponents were bad players. Not quite at the level of "majority of players".

Nah, not waving it around, just hate people screaming your army list sucks. Usually someone will tell me "Army XYZ SUCKS! I can beat it with my (SM, CSM, Tau) with my eyes closed!" I then then challenge he guy, go home, get the army in question, come back, and give it a try. Most of the time, people who scream how much it sucks, scream even louder when you beat them with it.

Fair point. I guess the best thing to do is just bear YMMV in mind.

Oh, of course. A well thought out and played SM army will beat AC. Unless the AC player has some very lucky rolls.
