Ok, i'm in need of a vehicle to make into a Looted Wgaon for my ork army. It will definately have a boomgun, and grot riggers. The rest is either 2 big shootas and a reinforced ram, or armour plates and 'ard case. What do you think is the best vehicle (excluding super-heavies) that i could use?

I like Rhinos because they best suit the armor profile of a Looted Wagon. They are also well suited to modification for a Boomgun, either accommodating a turret with the Predator turret ring upper piece or just cutting away the top of the Rhino to jam a Basilisk gun platform in there.

You don't care (what a rebel).

I would say a Looted Griffon mortar (if you can find it). You have a boom gun (looted to proper Ork's specs) and you could have grots arming some big-shootas off of the sides of it.

I would also say a Razorback because the turret would be fairly easy to convert and the openings on the side are made for adding gun ports on the sides.

The gun fitting well is not a good point on a looted model...
I'd personally take a chimera hull, jam on some extra armour, fit the turret into the chimera's turret space (if that'd take a proper gun smoothly, i'd be suprised) and use it as the other way round. (tear a hole in the front for a door, extra plates accross the back, something silly like that)


OR, one track from a leman, one from a chimera, hull from a rhino. If it'll all fit, that'd be amusing.

I would say a basilisk or one of the new Imperial Guard Artillery Pieces that are coming out

I have 2 looted wagons, and both are built on Rhino/Razorback chasis. They fit the profile of Looted wagons perfectly. I simply added suitable turrets and guns to the vehicles and got the Boomwagons that I wanted. This works better than using a Vinid from a gameplay perspective, because now your Boomgun is turret mounted, instead of hull mounted.

Also, the small size of a Rhino is perfect when you also have a ton of boys to field, as it takes up less space than a Russ

My vote goes for an Exorcist-style 'Orkestra' with a crazy Mek manning the giant missile pipes.

Go with the rhino.

I would do a Chimera with a Kustom Turret.

I personally use a Rhino. But Ive always wanted to have a looted Monolith. I'd Put a Grot right on top with a steering wheel and a rear view mirror. Gork would be proud.

Monolith £35...need another one for necron army... too much money...


So maybe a Razorback? it has the urret, so would be easier to convert.

I looted a basilisk with all kinds of glyph plates, boss poles, checks, and plasticard. its just oozing with orky goodness and a huge gun. Dakka Dakka Dakka Dakka...

Since in the fluff nither the adeptus mechanicus nor the inquisition has ever captured a significant amount of necron archeotech, having a orks show off a looted monolith would be sweet. I contemplated it once, having "the orks got it first" graffitied to the side figured prominently.

I hate to say it, but surely when asking for peoples opinion, when they give an idea its rude to describe it as "clogging up your thread"

I learned the hard way: looted vehicles = asking for trouble.
Really, the boomgun is just a glorified killkannon stuck on a metal box that has a tendency to tank shock your own troops and can't hit the broad side of a barn.
Save yourself the effort and build yourself a kickass battlewagon.
If you're set in running a looted wagon, build a looted Carnifex. Pure awesome, guaranteed.

You could try using WW2 models, like an American Priest self-propelled artillery, or a half-track. They look different enough that it shows that the Orks really screwed something up.
