Every tournament ive played has given points for comp, story, style sportmanship or just because the guy knew the judge in some bad cases. And whilst for the most part this is fine (aslong as the majority of points come from the gaming side, when you can rack up more points through painting and composition rather than gaming itself I start to feel it should be called a "Gaming Day" rather than a Tournament) I was wondering if there are any "pure" tournaments.

Tournaments were fluff, style composition etc take no part and the only way to get points is through winning or drawing(obviously less for a draw), I cant find one in my local area, nor heard of anyone whos been to a tournament like the one I describe. Even GT allows the top painted armies through, even if they dont have a good score!

thanks

P.M. me for rational Eldar Advice, both on list construction or Tactics.

Also feel free to query me about rules from the Eldar and Space Marine codices, as well as the General Rule book.

Mech Eldar army of the Craftworld Din Cassian currently at 17-6-7.

I don't know about the UK, but GW runs the 'Ard Boyz' tourney (preliminaries 11 July) in the US. Only Battle Points are counted, nothing else. 2500 points and painting also is not required.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Yep, lots of clubs/cons run "Gladiator" style tourneys where pure Battle Points is the only scoring criteria.
