Subject: Catachan Veterans - how to represent them?

While posting in another thread, the question raised itself in my mind : how do you model/represent Catachan veterans? Or any other IG army veterans for that matter.
I will either use Cadians, painted in the same colours as my regular Catachans, or Catachans painted a bit differently.
They need to be immediately recognisable as veterans but not stand out too much.
How do you guys go about it?

I would suggest alot of small scars, and maybe some extra equipment...
I have cadians, and I painted writings and campaign badges on my HQ armour, I think I would do the same with my veterans.

IMO they should look similar to that - just so, they look like they have been around awhile, know what thier doing - with not too much gear but enough to get the job done, but with catachans just add some tribal markings, few scars and a bandana and thats how i would represent them.

^^^ That's a cool idea, combining them with Cadian parts. I might give that a go.
Good suggestions allround guys, thanks a lot.
I was under the impression that veterans had to look significantly different, but I think I'm getting them mixed up with Stormtroopers.
I wonder how well the Cadian parts will mix with the Catachan parts
