People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

The Chimera was based off the Russian BMP-1 ( it really gets obvious when you see the HK missle mount is exaclty the way the russians used to mount thier AT-3 ATGM )
The New Marine Corps Amphibious Assault Vehichle pictured above also traces it's rooots back to the ubiquitous BMP. The BMP was an incredibly innovative vehicle that first typified the concept of the IFV(infantry fighting vehicle). The concept has been copied by dozens of other vehicles in numerous armies including the previous Marine Corps mainstay the LAV-25 ( which evolved into the now famous Army Stryker )
The Rhino ( origional model ) was very clearly modeled off of the US M-113 APC. Almost identical sillouhette.

I once saw a StarCraft Reaver at a car show (it was made by some University's Engineering department). That is, so far, the only game -> real life vehicle that has impressed me.

The difference is that the Chimera lacks the all-important wash plate to keep itself above the water. As-is, the Chimera would dive itself under the waves and into the surf in no time flat.
