Any word of Necron 'fortifications'?
Or is it a hammer it out on your own sort of thing?

Yes lots and lots of Flayed ones that can assault when they deepstrike in lol. With 6 elite choices to take them why wouldn't you.

Because I'd rather land, fire, then assault with 6 slots of Immortals (with attached lords of coarse)

I kinda fear 6 monoliths (when not in apocalypse where tools for dealing with them exist).

I also think phase out might need to be disregarded for them to not suck it up too easily.

I kinda doubt that they'd do away with phase out. It seems to be a major part of the balance of necrons

AFAIK Immortals do not have a deep stirke capability in their wargear and options. So you would end up DSing, shooting, and being left standing in the open.

Honestly for 18pts a model w/ deepstike capabilitys and Necron WBB the flayed ones might actually become a stronger asset to Necron lists.

damn...

In regards to the 'Liths, 4 Monoliths are not out of the realm of possibility, if you keep your phase out below 10.

I think that the Necrons will benefit greatly form Planetstrike.
Attack
Flayed one might actually see the light of day, as they might actually get into combat now. Plus, the additional fast attack choices means more destroyers, scarabs and/or wraiths. The Wraiths "move through cover" will be especially useful for dislodging units inside buildings/bunkers. Also, with up to 3 HQ. you could take 3 lords with res orb, and be everywhere at once, or 2 lords and a C'tan. Oh what fun!

Defense
Who needs to take more than one "bastion" when you can totally surround it with up to 6 monoliths getting d6 shots at every unit within range, plus particle whip. I would take 5 and a unit of tomb spiders. 5d6 to EVERY unit that tried go get near my fortifications, they would never make it to base2base with the objective. Destroyers in reserve to mop up any straglers.
