It can be for "best written," "most engaging," "least number of typos," etc. I look forward to seeing the first "Awww! Where's The Lost and the Damned?" or "Chaos 3rd isn't on here!"

I'm gonna have to say space marines, mostly cos it has the most in it. And some of its pretty good. (Except the ultrasmurfs bits!)

I have to say guard.
There are so many armies to choose from. So many backrounds! Tallarn, Pretoria, Vostroya, Valhalla, Cadia, Mordia, Krieg, and (amidst a sea of monsters and superhumans) they have always been the most (sniffle)...human.

lol that codex is like 90% ultrasmurf.

Hmmm come to think of it so is like 90% of what GW is focoused on aswell I feel a conspiracy coming on.

(the majority of GW staff can only recognise blue and black and all other colours are invisible to them)

North of you!

I'm really enjoying the new guard fluff its a HUGE improvement over the old one

If i could vote a 2nd time i'd be Dark Angels that fallen fluff is really interesting

I voted Tau. Gives a nice narrative that starts with their origin and details everything up to their current state, including the spheres of advancement and the cultures of Kroot and Vespids. It's a very encompassing codex.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.
By the time they scream... It's too late.

Eldar, hands down. I don't like Eldar tanks or units or characters AT ALL, but damn, after reading that codex, I seriously was all like "holy feth these guys don't feth around; they are badass."

Granted I was ALSO kinda like "man, these guys are complete dicks! Seriously, what the hell!" but it was more of the former than the latter.

...Rule 37. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload.'

I don't know about fluff but my favourite battle reports was for tyranids. honestly - the story of the eldar getting owned by the winged hive tyrant was awesome and the imperial guardsmen officer who go impaled by the ravener(?) ahh, good times

but fluff wise, probably orks - it shows alot about their way of life, how they fight, orgins etc. (then again i only own like 3 codexs)

Id have to say Space Marines, even tho yes it mostly bout Ultramarines, My favorite part tho is the small story it gives in the unit section bout the Legion of The Damned kicking butt, awesomeness on a stick . If you wanted more fluff all round I would just go with the 40k rulebook. Most in depth tho is the Space Marines IMO

Dur, It's Space Wolves. That Codex is the best written current codex GW has ever made IMO.

Also, Why isn't Chaos 3rd on here!

Got to be the orks.

Badrukk is awesome.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

I say Eldar because they are fighting for survival and have good allies...

'I don't like mon-keigh' is not really a great reason.
Neither is 'I felt like it'.

Actually, a have yet to hear a REALLY good excuse for eldar betrayal.

Lol got stab them in the back first before they can flee

I think they stab them in the back becuase if they don't pretty much anything can pwn them head on.

But backstabbing you're friends? That's just...NASTY.

If you survive an Eldar backstabbing then I would advise AGAINST kicking them in the balls. Becuase they obviously don't have any.

I meant from the BETRAYED's point of view.

Also I do not count 'sorry dude, but bad stuff will happen in the future if I don't do this now' as a REALLY good excuse.

The Inquisition uses that excuse all the time.

With the inquisition the bad stuff is pretty obvious about when it will happen. With eldar they would kill an old lady now to prevent her grandson mugging an autarch 100 years later.

Yes, but it would be a mugging of the spirit stone containing the consciousness of Eldrad himself, whose knowledge would be essential to turning back a Black Crusade powerful enough to smash the Cadian gate! See--you've got to think beyond the now!

QFT-- it isn't the fact that they can see the future with high degrees of accuracy that makes the eldar so alien. It is how craftworlders eschew all emotion and morality. The ultimate consequence of all things in the skeins of fate is all that matters to them. It is not really touched on enough in the fluff, since it is a major reason they are cool.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

They are just a little bit...RANDOM!

In any case they are not to be invited around for tea and cookies. Or milk, or coke, or at all.

I like the guard. The orks are cool as well. The bit in the burnaboys entry about taking a mek to keep them in line so they won't get bored and flame other orks just to watch them do "the burny dance" cracks me up.
