I'd like to finally know if the forgeworld Psycannon right arm for dreadnoughts are legal on a Grey knight army. I have asked around on some other forums and they told me if it's not on the Daemonhunter codex it's not allowed. But I saw there, the GK dreads are allowed vehicle upgrades which include psycannons. Which is right?

Read the codex.
Specifically the part where it says what weapons a GK Dread can have (not any other vehicle, just the Dreadnought). Your answer is there.

As I am feeling nice:
No, it cannot have a Psycannon. It can have Psycannon Bolts for its storm Bolter however. If you like the model, get it, just "counts as" something else.

Ignore Gwar.

It can have a Psycannon as per the rules in IA2. The Imperial Armour books - and it even says this in the foreword for IA2 - are not optional and do not require your opponent's permission.

Disclaimer: I think it's in IA2. I haven't read that book in a while, so I might be forgetting.

Actually, EVERYTHING needs your opponents permission. If I don't want to play against your Imperial Guard, what are you gonna do, break my legs?

D: You big meanie.

I am right though. 99% of people won't object to it however, even though they have every right to.

Gonna add that to your sig?

And as I said - tautology - which means that your statement is technically correct but adds nothing to the argument. Of course everything in the game is opponent's permission, but answering a question of legality with "But everything requires permission" means nothing. I could say that I don't like bolters and don't want any used - that's my right - but it doesn't change the legality of Bolters now does it, assuming those bolters are on the units that can have them? Yes?

A better way to put it would be:

Q: No matter the feelings of your opponent, are GK Dread Psycannons a legal choice in a GK army?
A: Yes. IA2* says as much.

*Again, assuming it is IA2. I'd have to check.

Yeah it is in IA2, but it is still IA.

If someone has that Imperial armor, how much does the psycannon cost to put on the dread? I have one and am just curious in case I ever mount it.

Which doesn't really mean anything. It's as legal and valid as the 'Shooting' section in the 5th Ed rulebook or the Fast Attack section of Codexaemons.

And IA5 says everything except the main rulebook and the codices are opponent's permission. Five beats two. I win!

What he said. The download is free and updates the older SM hardware for current usage.
Points and upgrades for the FW GK dreadnought are in it.

It is only a single psycannon (not twin-linked or anything) and a 'fluffy' choice as opposed to an overpowered one (FW are usually overcosted as well to compensate).

The world is quiet here.

And to add more pedantry to the conversation:

And as I said - tautology - which means that your statement is technically correct but adds nothing to the argument.

That is not in any way what that word means.

I think Tautology is annoying, abrasive, and just downright aggravating.
