First off, not crazy about Flames of War getting top billing on the forum here

Here's a summary of our Disposable Heroes WWII scenario from Monday night at the club

enjoy

What game is this?

I'm intrigued.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Uhm... Going by the description and the look of it, it's Disposable Heroes WW2 skirmish from Iron Ivan games. Their website is at:

Haha, yeah. It's not Flames of War, it's Disposable Heroes. I played a 28mm Disposable Heroes scenario at Advance the Colors last year, and it was pretty cool. It's a really nifty system.

Nice battle report, and nice pictures. Thanks for posting, it's good to see some more historical stuff on Dakka. If you don't like FOW getting "top billing," feel free to post more stuff from other systems - I'd love to see more, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I think the reason FOW has been the focus lately is simply because it's a very solid ruleset, it's popular, and very easy to start compared to some of the other, more arcane (but quite fun) historical rulesets. Personally I'm glad to see the Historical section here getting any action at all.

If I may ask though, what don't you like about Flames of War?

DH is a great system and a lot of fun to play. I appreciate everyones' posts, except the guy who thought it was FoW

I can deal with FoW as the heading. FoW is a decent system and it helps wean GW players off of their addiction to poorly written rules and see there is a whole other galaxy of games out there to enjoy. FoW was my escape from the madness that 40K had become.

Forgiven, my son

Minimum game size is a platoon per side. Platoons are made up of: Command section, 2-4 rifle squads (usually divided into 2 sections), optional support units and vehicles.

Games could be 2 or more per side.

If you like skirmish games you'll like DH.
