I tend to get carried away with my hobbies, which is why only after 6 weeks of playing 40k, I already have two complete armies (Orks and Tau). What I'm now pondering is, what would be a contrast army to pick that is just...different? Will the new space wolves be a good wait? (one month) A SM chapter seems like the cheepest route. I just know very little about almost every other army besides orcs and tau. I read over the IG codex and not quite sure if I liked it or not. (it's good, just not for me I guess). My first two picks were easy, orks because I play orks/orcs in everything else and it's alwats my default race. Then I went with tau because i got a great deal for them, and because they are the exact opposite of orks. Now I'm at a loss for where to go next (or if I should even bother).

Sorry if I sound rambly, it's 4 am and I should be asleep.

Well what kinda Orks do you run? CC or Shooty dakka?

Cause in the case of CC, then you kinda have run the two polar opposite armies. One assault-based army, and one shooty-based army. So to pick something that's different you'd probably need to pick something that lies in between.

Which kinda leaves the Emperor's finest as your best option in that regard. In which case, wait for the Wolves

Also, how many points do you have with your two armies? Cause in my honest opinion, just stick with what you got, and expand on them, so you have options for later games, or the option to play one really big game.

Look at what models you like and make some decisions from there. Look up rules if they are interesting and make sure you try out an army before using them by using another army as a proxy.

I liked the look of the Tau models and instead of going to Necrons, like I originally was after SM, I ended up with a $150 Aus distraction. Tau are great, but not really what I'd want to play after a shooty SM army.
