So i hope this is the right board cause i'm still pretty green around here. I'm just getting back into 40k after several years (last played during 3rd edition and played chaos) and i'm putting together an Imperial Guard army. I'd just like some opinions on where to go with my first armored fist veterans squad. So far I have a sergeant with a power fist, a spec. weapon trooper with a GL, a spec. weapon trooper with a meltagun. I'm thinking hvy flammer for the third spec. weapon guy but i'd like to hear some opinions from other guard players and what they have fielded for veterns.

Take all of one type. this maximizes their ability in a single speciality. eg, three meltas within 6" will kill a land raider (unless the dice gods hate you) and three plasmaguns along with lasguns rapid firing at a 5 man termie squad will likely kill them or badly cripple them.

ah see i don't now anything about how this game works lol, that makes sense making them specialised as opposed to a swiss army knife.
