Alright, so I don't know if this has been done before or not, but in order to make things a little more interesting in a campaign that I've got in mind, I'm thinking about setting it up like this.
Everyone shows up at a designated time and writes the name of the person that they want to play against down on a piece of paper and put them into a hat. I'll then pull out the pieces of paper and assign the games based on the name the person wrote down.
For Example: Bob, Jacob, Bill, Pete, and Nathan show up to play in the campaign.
Bob writes down he wants to Attack Nathan
Nathan writes down that he wants to Attack Bill
Bill writes down that he wants to Attack Nathan
Jacob writes down that he wants to Attack Pete
Pete writes down that he wants to Attack Jacob
Game 1 would be Bill and Bob against Nathan.
Game 2 would be Jacob vs Pete.
Nathan would earn money as per the Giant Killer Bonus rule, and Bill and Bob at any time during the game have the option of turning on eachother, taking the game from 2v1 to a free for all.
What does this mean? This means that during the campaign, alliances will form, break apart, counter alliances, dirty underhanded deals will be struck, rivalries will become commonplace.... everything that a good gang game should have.
It also means that if a gang should become too big for its britches, or step on too many toes.... the other gangs will be able to team up to take them down.
