Has anybody seen a ruleset or a way of making Hired Guns a permanent part of your Necromunda Gang?

I know that you have to pay their fee everytime, but I have a friend that is looking for a way to add one on permanently. I was thinking maybe paing a one-time fee of 5xHire Cost. I know they say this is how you should determine their value for the gang rating, but I was thinking that this would be representative of an "extended stay". Of course they don't gain experience or skills, but after 5 games they're basically "free".

What do you think of that idea?

I think it would make the games unbalanced, but give it a go.

The high fee would be difficult for starting gangs to pay for and the more experienced gangs have no need...the regular fighters are going to outclass the hired guns.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

We let our Bounty Hunters gain experience. Essentially at the start of the campaign we roll up a 'stable' of hired guns - last time it was a pair of Wyrds, a pair of Pit Slaves, a pair of Bounty Hunters, two or three Scum and a Ratskin.

Gave 'em names and printed out little start-cards for each one. As their experience went up, so did their hire fee. Their advances were based upon the standard tables each Hired Gun gets, with advances being taken at the same experience levels as everyone else.

Started them all off in the 61-80EXP bracket and went from there.

Came in very handy when two gangs decided to take on the resident Genestealer Cult. They hired up all the Hired Guns, some of which had been steadily gaining experience over the campaign, and used them as cheap disposable cannon fodder against Purestrain Genestealers. Such a bloody game...
