I'm considering Space Hulk, but curious about 1 thing. The minis look great, but are they 40k scale? The idea being that you're getting the game + some new 40k minis to use. If so, the thing is a freaking steal. The termies alone would cost that much. Anybody know?

I believe it has been mentioned before that it is the same scale.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. I'm also considering a purchase of the game. Does anybody know if the rules have changed? Or are they exactly the same as they were 15 years ago when I last played it?

no one knows just yet. People have speculated that it is the same ruleset, with the expansions and some updates.

The figures should be the same scale to keep cost down....

I find this new release to truly be a waste of money. Why would I spend £50 for Genestealers I wouldnt use, card corridors which I could easily make myself and terminators which I never use anyway? I would rather spend the £50 on a battleforce or something else.

If they were Inquisitor scale, the set would be more than £50. I don't think GW would be that generous as to sell a whole bunch of Inquisitor figures for a relatively chreap price.

Do you not see how asinine the above quote from you sounds?

"I don't use Genestealers or Terminators, so why would I buy it?"

Well... why would you? Why would you consider it? Is it a waste of money for those who love Genestealers and Terminators and want to place Space Hulk?

If you were a big time Eldar player and GW released a new Skaven boxed set, do you go "I only play Eldar, so this new Skaven box is a complete waste of money!!!1!!!2!!!1!!" - because that's basically when you just said.

Christ... when I whine endlessly I atleast try to have a consistent and arguable point behind me. You didn't see screaming bloody murder about all the new Lizardmen releases because they were useless for my Imperial Guard. This is just 'I don't need any of this stuff so it's a waste of money!'... which doesn't even make any damned sense.

I find the rumored release of new necrons to be a waste of money, myself. Why would I spend $90 on a necron battleforce? Or a codex which I could easily flip through in a store and new tomb spyders which I never use anyway? I would rather spend the $90 on hookers or something else.

...but mostly don't agitate HBMC about space hulk

But mostly don't post statements that make no logical sense.

"OMG! Those new releases for Warmachine are USELESS for Magic the Gathering! How can I use Warjacks with my cards? I can't, can I? WASTE OF MONEY! RARRR!!!!!"

"WTF? How am I going to use that new plastic Treeman in Battlefleet Gothic? I can't can I? Ah! How can they keep releasing these complete wastes of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!2!!!!8!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Oh come on GW! What good is the new Demolisher to my Necrons? Huh? It's not any good now is it? Why would I waste my money on this????????????///???//??????QUESTIONMARK!!!!!!

See how little sense these make?

I was wondering if they are 28 MM as well and judging by this picture on GW's website I think it is. The guy either has giant hands or its a 28mm terminator he's picking up. The only question I have is what they are using to base the models. I thought in the last Space Hulk they used regular round bases but this type of base looks specific to Space Hulk and might come pre-attached.

Good point. Forgot to compare it to the hands. I just compared it to the dice and what I know of Space Hulk tiles (and these new tiles appear identicle).

Well I for one, am absolute giddy. I got into the hobby about 6 months or so before they started phasing this game out and at time I was 11 so while I thought it was cool I could never really afford it. Needless to say, mine is now pre-ordered

You could always try ebay for a previous edition if you wanted to play it - you should be able to find one for about a third of the price.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Third the price? You ever looked for Hulk on eBay chromedog? It ain't cheap, and finding Genestealer or Deathwing sets (especially Genesteler sets) is just as expensive.

Cheapest one I could find was an auction with no bids at $49.95, and it would go up from there. If you want to ensure a full kit that you don't miss out on expect to pay a lot. Want a copy of Deathwing? How does US$100 sound?

Now, it is possible that the new Space Hulk will have an effect on these prices, but we don't know yet whether they'll drive demand for the originals up or down - to early to tell - and we haven't seen the first of the new one's appear on eBay either. But as it stands, Space Hulk is not cheap. Not as expensive as Warhammer Quest, but 1/3rd the price is a complete lie.

The two things preventing me buying it are that I don't have $100 to drop right now (need a new tranny in my car) and the Terminators have too much sculpted-in BA iconography.

You can rent those by the hour, you know. If you don't use it very often, that's often the cheaper way to go.

28mm: I'd be surprised if they put in the effort to sculpt at a completely new scale, just to make life difficult on people that want to buy the box just for the minis. You're still spending $100 on $5 of plastic and cardboard after all.

Iconography: Eh, I suppose I'd be happier if the Iconography was for a chapter I played (or at least cared about) but I'd rather have them covered in iconography and pretty doodads than going the utilitarian route. I don't *want* to use these in my regular 40k armies (I have too much crap as is) so having them be from a chapter I'm not really interested in does have certain advantage to me, although I definitely understand the frustration.

On the upside, I finally have a use for all of these Space Corridors that I've been stocking up on.

Well, its been confirmed that these are 28mm miniatures. A few people have seen them, as well as others having called up GW, and customer service confirming this.

Although... again... nothing official =___=.

a buddy of mine and I were talking about the bases and he thinks that they are so you can more easily get the models into base to base contact on the board. As to the size from looking at the Sprues I think they are 40k scale would be nice of GW to come out and say they are since as a tyranid player the Idea of a plastic broodlord makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
