What kind of personality does a Warhound titan have?

What kind of Planet is Brimlock and Sy'l'Kell?

How do sisters of battle view Eldar?

What are typical tau names? (I mean the last part (the personal name))

How do Tech Priests of the admech view the Machine Spirit/Personality of vehicle?

How can they communicate with it? (I remember seeing something about a mental link in souldrinkers)

I would Warhound Titans (being Machine spirits) would have varying personalites...but would ussualy be more rash than a bigger Emprah Class titan. (Can't be sure though)

Brimlock sounds like a lava planet. Not sure about S'yl'Kell. Never heard of 'em.

SoBs view eldar as vile xenos that, even worse, practice a vile form of witchcraft.

Via. Kias. Li'or'a. Man'el. Just ad in a ' and you should be all right.

Mostly with reverence. (Especially for bigger ones like a ship or titan) But possibly with a familairity or even friendship. Esspecially if they know eachother (aka pilot or frequent servicer)

I...don't know. Most I think it is a feeling of the spirit. Mostly through prayers. On those rare occasions where it actually talks well...mabye through the vox-casters?

The admech uses electro-grafts to communicate with machine spirits, which is essentially a flash drive in your hand, or something similar.

I always thought "machine spirit" was Admech speak for "it doesn't do what it is supposed to do and I can't explain it...must be a MACHINE SPIRIT!". You know, because they simply don't understand higher tech, they think there's some kind of being or magic in it. "Angering the machine spirit" is messing up the usual starting/boot procedures required from the user...all these sermons, prayers and stuff they do ritually is that stuff that you would find today in a maintenance handbook, very mundane stuff.

But, it seems like, there are really machine spirits? I mean, I've read not THAT few fluff books and I never heard of a machine spirit really speaking or stuff like that. Wouldn't that be heresy? Speaking and self-aware machines? They banned stuff like that after they messed up with thinking android robots in the Age of Strife, didn't they?

I meant also meanings, but you can never go wrong with the " ' " for alien races

From what I know. machine spirit (lowercase) is the general spirit of the machine, a Machine Spirit (uppercase) is sort of a limitedd AI

Read the Dark Heresy manual, all the info on techpriests. I'm pretty sure that is official Canon, if not, then i dont know where you would find more info, except maybe in "mechanicum", the BL book.

True, there are definitely actual spirits inside the bigger machines. (Titans and Emperor Class Battleships) these have even been known to talk on occassion. But superstition perhaps creates the myth that EVERYTHINK has a spirit. (I once read in BFG that the priest was wary of the machine spirit of the fire hydrant.)

I know landraiders have a Machine Spirit (and in 4th ed every vehicle could have one)

Most super-heavies and other old tech have machine spirits. But also some low-level Machine spirits are used for automated gun emplacements.

The view of every piece of technology having a spirit is pure superstition, but what to expect from someone treating machines
with prayers instead of reading the manual?

IIRC, SoB use rhino chassis. There could be some other designs too, similar to armored police vehicles ( arbites ).

I was wondering more if they took chimeras, valks and possibly other imperial vehicles if need be (of course they can, they are the inquisition, but the question is if they do)

Does anyone know good sites and sources for information about SoB?

How does a SoB prepare for battle?

The SoB are part of the ecclesiarchy, not the inqusition. They have close ties to the =I=, thus often beeing seen as inquisitionary force.

As part of the ecclesiarchy, the ordos have more dutys than just fight.
There are the hospitallers and translators, who shall be not forgotten.
The sisters serve the imperium with more than battle prowess.

But the militant type of sister may prepare with training and prayers for battle.

Sources for SoB could be:
- "faith and fire" from BL

But as SoB are the ones represented on the tabletop, they get the spotlight.

And while technically not full =][=, I do think they get most of the perks.

Anything more about battle preparation? What do they to put on the armor? Any cybernetic implants?

I have looked over lexicanum, but I will check out "faith and fire"

Edit: Is "faith and fire" good on its own, only as a source for Sister information or both?

Would you recommend reading it?

On the note of Machine spirits: the larger vehicals do have machine spirits, I have issue 2 of warhammer monthly (and 1), in which the the titan speeks directly with his new piolet, genraly I have got the idea that this is the case for many of the larger machines, I'm sure in some very old rules for space marine tanks if the drivers were killed the tank could keep going on thier own. Most people think that there are macine spirits, the space Marines think that thier battle armore has a machin spirit "The members of the Deth Watch paint thier armore plack, exept one shoulderpad which they leave in the coulers of thier chapter so as not to offend the machine spirit of the armore". Though I dont think the average gardsman thinks there is a spiret in his lasgun. I would agree that a lot of it it Machine Cult superstition that has spread throught the imperium.

Also please excuse my terrible Dyslexic spelling in my postes, I cant be bothered to spell check.

machine spirit=superstition

People treat machine spirits right, because of the "knock on wood" effect

Implants seem to be rare but your average SoB wont refuse to wield symbols of their faith.
The metal minis may be old but represent the common adornment of SoB armor well.

I would.

Its a fine read and gives some insight in their beliefs, behaviour and everyday actions.

Are they nude in the armor or is there some sort of underclothing present?

By implants, I meant connections to the power armor as I have seen pictures of SoB with matrix-esque sockets on their bodies.

I will be sure to pick up a copy of faith and fire then.

were a family friendly forum....... so lets assume the latter.

Only Space marines are fully connected to their power armor. SoB only benefit from the protection of their variant of PA.
I do not remember other benefits than some sensors ( but data on display, not linked into the brain ).

They do in fact have underclothing present, in fact, you can see some of it on their minis. The "soylent green" of 40k is called corpse-starch rations.

you hae to remember that any kind of autonomus "robot" has to be made of something that used to be living thus servitos, servo skulls ect, I think that the admech has found a way around that, or else at the heart of every land raider is some skull or something.

The Machine Spirit is a simple AI, because the maddeningly intelligent AI they made before it almost killed off humanity (very necron-esque, I think they C'tan would've liked them.) Also, the Admech just don't know squat anymore. (Oh god, that was a pun of 40k *facepalm*)

So, I ordered "faith and fire" and I have the Dark Heresy basic book and the Inquisitor guide.

Any particular sections to really look for? I have been skimming around, but I have to give it back tomorrow, so I don't have much time.
