that looks sweet! Maybe some green sewage or chemical spill would look cool on the ground and make some interesting impassable terrain at the floor.

I had a Platformer and a Chemical plant set a year back. I left it in the box and sold it. Should've kept it now that I'm into playing Necromunda. ha

Thanks Otto!

Yeah those kits are great, still easy to get, and cheap. Just use your imagination then!

Get loads of inspiration from the usual wellsprings:

Fallout 3
Bladerunner
Madmax
Dark city

and many others you can imagine.

The 'ceptic tank' model has a skele in which eventually will be submerged in green real water acidy stuff! Woop!

Got plans for some tanks of it too, to finish the 'sewage works' bit.

So with you on those thoughts already big man.

This looks über-nice!

Really like all the elevation and sneaky corners, not to mention the amount of detail.

Your use of those building sets convinces me that they work well together, on their own.
Think I´ll have to try out that hexagonal set. Does it interlock with the chem and platform ones?

It would be great with pictures in your thread though, instead of links..

Hey Gromarch Thanks!

I am kinda new to forums but will start posting some picks here instead, sorry bout that.

Yeah the BIO-PLANT and the PLATFORMER sets work together, but the HEX is seperate.

Hex represents its main form shape, the platform and bio plants are square.

Of course, that's where logic stops and your imagination begins, the whole idea of my hive is there will be a train track through the middle, but no roads for cars or tanks or anything like that. Our vision of gang warfare doesn't include elite army tanks, so really trying to get an 'inner' claustrophobic feeling, like there is only enough space for the fig to fit around the routes.

The main building goes up three levels but eventually the tallest will be 6 tiered, but that will be a spire.

I get them from eBay cheap as chips, games-scenery has a nice shopkeep.

Think there maybe more available from the US, check the litko site.

Was going to start painting the acid bath but couldn't resist just putting some extra detail on.

Quick overview of bits added:

The fan grills on the inside of the acid bath are from that predator.

The little orange bits on the ends are also just bits cut from the parts of a predator, bit of thought and patience and you can cut thin strips of plastic from any bits of flid, and make up bulkheads that look a bit more solid and believable. Careful cutting of plastic is advised. Always cut away from your fingers remember.

Wise terrain builder say waste nothing.

The bits of rail on the top of the bath are the clippy bits from the top of a necro bulkhead (where they slide together).

Those little round bits are sprue.

Should have better sight of the skeleton and the fan, they will be the only bit in the bottom not painted black, to let the real water have depth (and hopefully the green will refract light better) and let them be more striking as they pierce through the water. (Ie bone and metal against black with a green tint, hopefully look nice!)

The tank and funnel are bits from city of death and old 40k bits.

Will DEFINATELY start the paint next, very happy about the detail now.

Hope you enjoy!

Looks very promising, good you added the extra details. Cant wait to see it done.
Do you intend to tone the real water?

yup I will probably use green ink, and maybe blow holes with a straw??

Sounds like a plan. I never tried making "real water", so I've no good advice there. Blowing bubbles could turn out pretty cool, if it works as intended.

Yeah its going to be my first time too gromarch! So wish me luck.

I been reading up on loads and woodland scenic's seem to make the preferred and indeed easiest to use vs good results.

Takes days to cure real water effects, so the plan with the bubbles is leave to cure for a day then insert the air bubbles...

Of course experimenting will be done first!

If your experiments doesn´t turn out as you hope, you might wanna check this out:

That guy made alot of awesome stuff and many of it contains water, with outstanding results.

Check it out anyway..
