The deal is this. Our gaming group has decided to expand our necromunda campaign to the next level and take the fighting out into the ash wastes. With all the opportunities for bikes, trucks and beasts I'm looking at my wallet unhappily. Simply put my budget is limited, yet I want to get some cool looking stuff for my gang members to go around on. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have seen some cold ones used as beasts (with some great conversions), though I was personally thinking ork trukks because I believe (and hope) they are generally cheaper. Also as a nid player I see the opportunity to do some conversions on my warriors to turn some of them into ridden medium size beasts. I'm also willing to go out and buy non GW stuff (heresy I know) if it gets the job done cheaper.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks a bunch

I´ve seen some nice conversions done using IG walkers. Two of those combined, (possibly shorten the legs one section) with a flatbed made out of plasticars, and you could easily transport most of your gang...

Another option is ork vehicles, I´d consider the smaller ones, and adding ramshackle platforms or cabs to them... Just some thoughts, there are tonnes of options out there.

Here´s a link to my extended landspeeder, which is what my group uses to zoom around the wastelands:

Hope you can find some inspiration from this, be sure to let us know what you end up doing.

Yep, Orky vehicles for the ramshackle, 'cobbled together' look. War-buggies and Skorchas might be a decent conversion platform - plus they're cheap(ish).

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

what about finding some OOP Gorka morka trucks and vehicles? Also, I've converted a few orky bikes for necromunda and its worked out decent - and my last option would be go to a model store, buy a $10 model and convert the hell out of it!! I don't think there are any real standards on what they have to look like, and converting a "dune buggy" $10 model might be a nice cheap way to try it out.

Where can you find the rules for Ash Wastes and Vehicles? I Know they were on GW website, but they were removed when they scrapped their old (perfectly good, sometimes more useful [in terms of articles]) Website?

I friend of mine found them online somewhere. When I get the time I should be able to find the link (if it's still working).

You can find Ash Wastes on Warseer, here, along with several other useful Necromunda resources that GW doesn't have available on their site anymore.
