Arian 600th Regiment
Orbital Defense Force
-Overview-
The world of Ariel Primus was discovered in 889.M30 by the World Eaters, shortly after the Great crusade began. After entering the system, the World Eaters fleet was immediatly assaulted by no less than a whole armada of cruisers and warships, though outdated by the World Eaters fleet by several hundered years, they posed a large threat with their numbers alone. After a hard-fought battle, the World Eaters prevailed, boarding several ships and driving back the defenders. Before its reunion with the God-Emperor, the planet was a thriving community, producing thousands of inter-planetary ships that carried massive weapons that could destroy small continents. Upon seeing this, the munistorum decided unanumously to let the planet's population of 4 billion to keep on creating vessles for the Imperium. Due to the planet's high mountain ranges that cover every inch of the planet, and the low gravity, the people there are short and stocky, and are usually trained to become pilots or navigators.
-Culture-
Arians love flying, and due to their Low-grav enviorment, they are able to jump off of high cliffs and live. Every year, during twister season, most provinces hold and anual Flyer's day, where children of 12-20 create gliders, and see who can go the highest in a tornado without falling. This creates a confidence in Arians that is considered invaluable in the Navy, but a serious hazard in the Imperial guard, who usually try and stay away from the "crazy frakkers".
Arian regiments usually stay aboard ships, protecting them and acting as emergency support crews. There are very few exceptions to this rule, which creates one of the strongest bonds between the Imperial guard and the Navy since the Great Betrayal. The 600th are the exception, as they usually deploy onto the ground like any other regiment.
-Tithe-
The tithe for the planet Ariel Primus are not set by years, but by casualties. Every time a Battlegroup of Arians is wittle down to a companies' worth of veterans, the Battlegroup goes back to Ariel and brings aboard fresh recruits, creating a core of Veterans to bolster and train any "clipped wings".
-Tactics-
Arian regiments usually use punishing Lance strikes from orbit to destroy most of the Fortifications between them and their objectives. After softening up any hard targets, the troops deploy under the cover of a devestating aerial raid from Valkyries and Vendettas. Each squad has a flamer to clear cramped hallways and eliminate tougher troops. Along with this, they use the Lassaw, a lasgun that can pump out up to 300 lasrounds in little under one minute. Alongside these are Autocannons, mighty gins that can spit death at hard infantry and light armour.
The standard armament for these hot-drop troops are Autoguns with scopes, allowing pinpoint accuracy from up to 100 yards, laying down an impressive amount of fire from a safe distance.
Veterans in an Arian regiment are Stormtroopers, pure and simple, and deploy from the Valkyries and Vendettas during their assaults. These troopers usually carry an over abundance of Grenades, just loving the sight of popping enemies. Unsurprisingly, the Arian's favourite vehicle is the Valkyrie, though it isn't unnatural to see a hellhound in the group.
Arian defense is fluid and swift, using Valkyries and Vendettas, the Arians destroy any high value targets before they get to their fortifications, then open up with a torrent of bombs, shells and lasers, using turret mounted Battle Cannons to great effect.
Platoon organisation is usually only infantry squads, only using heavy weapon squads in their own platoons. The only units that don't appeal to arians are Abhumans, disliking that other regiments have to use modified humans to accomplish tasks.

Alright I'll bite (stealing your format):

Foxphoenix's 49th Alascadian Regiment
Planetary Defense Force
-Overview-
Planetary body AK-907 (Known to locals as Alascadia) is a planetoid of roughly Terran size. It is comprised of 21 percent water, the rest being vaporized millennium before by catastrophic civil war of the planet's inhabitants. The electro-magnetic pulses created by the atomic weaponry have ruined the planet's ionsphere, which protected the planet from the majority of solar radiation, resulting in the loss of most of the planet's water vapor. Alascadia has become somewhat of a frigid world since the fallout of nuclear winter, maintaining an average temperature of -25 degrees Celcius. On particularly cold nights, the ambient temperature can drop as much as -56 degrees. In the warmer months, the temperature rarely peaks above 13 degrees. The planetoid is primarily an ash world, accumulated over the centuries from "hot-spots" that continued to burn underground. These hot-spots are usually comprised of flammable deposits of coal or similar minerals, and can remain embers for hundreds of years. Civilization is built around these natural generators, and they use the heat generated in such regions to power their agriculture and industry. The planetary ecosystem is just beginning to recover, and thanks to hydroponics technology for food production, the Imperium inhabitants have finally been repopulating at a rate that can sustain its own planetary defense force, and Imperial analysts expect that the planetoid should be able to sustain a tithe in the near future. The constant freezing/thawing of traveling inside and out of the hot-spots can result in metal corrosion, and the Alascadian regiments have a difficult time combating this hindrance.
-Culture-
Alascadian youth are often employed as scavengers, plying ruins of the "Old World" for technology that is still usable. Most of the ruins have been picked clean of any material that can be melted down, or repurposed. All that remains are burnt husks of buildings, covered in thick layers of ash. As they mature, these youth are taught ways to repurpose scavenged material, such as smelting and casting. This makes for a culture that highly prizes their technology, roughshod as it is. Each trooper's lasgun was hand-made in his youth, smelted from materials the trooper scavenged himself and poured into a cast designed from a standard construct template.
-Tithe-
None
-Tactics-
Although raw materials are in short supply, the Alascadian regiments favor armored vehicles fitted with dozerblades. Recruits are in short supply, so veteran squads are generally issued a Chimera-pattern transport made of smelted materials to ensure their prolonged survival, as well as rebreather masks. Since the planet's inhabitants lack the population to form massive regiments, most regiments have a mix of regulars and veterans. There are virtually no conscripts. Each platoon maintains a handful of fresh recruits, which are carefully watched over by the more experienced troopers. Infantry platoons are usually static emplacements, manning heavy guns and lending fire support, while the veteran squads manuever in their transports. These regiments are also issued 1-3 Leman Russ tanks of varying types, to give the regiment a defensive punch. It is a rare sight to see a Alascadian regiment maneuvering without the cover of their Leman Russ armor.

12th Methuselan Armored Cavalry Regiment

Methuselah is a Forgeworld deep in the heart of the Segmentum Pacificus. It is the largest producer of atmospheric condensers, evaporators, and terraformanufactories—large, pre-fab complexes that use geothermal and atmospheric by-products as a means of making the atmosphere conducive to human life—in the quadrant. It is also home to a large mining cooperative under the direct supervision of the Munitorum, producing a rare and resilient form of iron ore that is vital to the manufacture of many military goods.

Much of this ore is shipped off-planet to other well-known Forgeworlds where manufactories churn out Leman Russ tanks and Chimera armored personnel carriers. In fact, Methuselah produces very little in the way of materiel for the Armies of the Imperium. What few production centers that exist for defense products are mainly for the planet’s own consumption by its PDF and tithed regiments. However, Methuselah’s position as a supplier of ore to the furnaces of the more important and vital Forgeworlds gives it a special ability to procure only the finest and best military equipment the Imperium can field. As such, there were few planets that were able to match the mechanized regiments of Methuselah in sheer size and number. Until recently…

During the Third War for Armageddon, many of Methuselah’s Mechanized Regiments were recalled from many other postings and marshaled in Armageddon Sector space. Methuselah’s Imperial Governor felt a kinship towards the war-torn planet and ordered nearly all of the plant’s tithed regiments to assist the Imperial war effort. Disastrously, an ambush had been laid at the marshaling point by forces of Urgok the Unstoppable. To this day, it is still not known how the Ork warlord knew of Imperial plans. Whether it was simply by luck or design, what was not a point of contention was the Ork’s murderous intent.

Imperial Navy escort frigates in the sector had been handed over security of the massive troop ships by the previous sub sector’s forces. It was in this confusion when prior security forces had left that the troops ships and security forces intermingled and began to sort out their formations for the final leg of the journey when the Orks struck. Ork Kill Kroozers and close-in torpedo boats focused their attacks on the large and unwieldy troops ships. Confused Imperial frigates tried in vain to setup a defensive perimeter and allow the troops ships to flee into the Warp. The final blow was struck when the Ork Space Hulk Gaze uv da Destructah fell out of warp along with another squadron of Kroozer escorts. It was only days later, after the troop ships had been reported overdue was the full extent of the carnage understood: a squadron of Imperial escorts and eleven regiments of mechanized infantry, nearly 100,000 crew and soldiers, lost their lives.

Months after, Imperial Inquisition forces passed judgment on scores of Imperial Navy officers. In a general purging of the sector chain-of-command, many of these officers were judged Excommunicatus and were stripped of rank and forcibly banished from Imperial space. Even Methuselah’s Governor would fall victim to the Inquisition’s merciless machine. He was charged with over 100,000 counts of destroying Imperial property and high treason. He was sentenced into the service of the Ecclesiarchy as an arco-flaggelant, where in death he would find his absolution.

The Armored Cavalry Regiment

What was left of Methuselah’s vaunted armed forces was little more than a dozen over-strength companies of mechanized infantry on-planet, and a single armored regiment and two mechanized reserve regiments serving garrison duty in-sector. These forces were immediately recalled and the planet’s Munitorum representatives undertook the arduous task of taking stock of the planet’s military capabilities. The newly appointed Governor cared little for the military (indeed, it being his predecessor’s direct downfall) and allowed the Munitorum full control over the reorganization efforts.

What was created was something very much unlike a traditional mechanized infantry regiment.

[Mine is a little bit unorthodox, as it's not exactly a regiment, but it's close enough. I'll be able to upload a picture soon.]

1st Battlegroup, Illumination Fleet of Lord-General Kaul Bold

Locations: On the very edge of the galaxy, where the Emperor's light is faint, worlds are sparse, and livable worlds even sparser. Human worlds have little contact with one another, and some have never been heard from after contact was lost during the Age of Strife. With only a single system's resources to use, these worlds are easy prey to internal strife, Xenos races [including ones unseen elsewhere in the galaxy], and especially the forces of Chaos. The Lord-General Kaul Bold, after seeing the damage done to his home planet by foul Daemons, gathered together a small fleet of ships, and set out to bring the light of the Emperor to a dark frontier.

Tactics: The 1st is one of 3 Battlegroups equipped with a variety of weapons and armor, to be used when the composition and tactics of the enemy is initially unknown. They have some of the most experienced soldiers in the fleet, who have fought in hundreds of conflicts. The 1st has been involved in suppressing rebellions, driving Ork hordes from dozens of planets, and breaking through Traitor Marine defenses. The First will change their tactics to achieve the completion of any mission given to them by the Lord-General.

Colours: Like all other soldiers in Bold's Fleet, the First wears the traditional brown cloth with blue armor plates - blue was the ceremonial colour of the noble house Kaul Bold belonged to on his home planet. When infiltration is needed, soldiers are given a black or dark green uniform, though they still wear the standard blueboots. This has led to the soldiers of the Illumination Fleet being given the nickname 'the Blueboots' by planetary populaces.

[As an aside, I do love writing background story for the Imperial Guard. They are so varied, and so human, that almost any option can be explored.]

In The depths of a Tomb World, placing demo charges.

Okay, i'll give you the back-story of the IG regiment i have in the works.

Ferosian 1st Tomb Raiders: "The Lady's Own."

Inquisitorial Support Regiment (Combined Arms)

Overview

The planet Ferosia is located in the Imperium's galactic south, remarkable as a shrine world with outstanding natural beauty, a place where a Living Saint is said to have fallen during a past crusade. It us rumored that it's ruling family is directly descended from that holy woman and thousands of pilgrims from across Imperial space travel to walk the surface of this beautiful world.

Reluctant to defile the holy soil of their own planet, most of Feroisa's production and resource gathering operations are actually located on the other worlds in the system, planets were the quality of life is harsher, uglier, and far shorter. These colonies sent back a steady stream of mineral wealth to their home planet as well as being a potential hotbed of recruits for the Imperial Guard.

That ended with the coming of the Nercons.

Hidden beneath the surface of the outermost planet of Ferosia X lay a Necron Tomb, filled with uncountable ranks of gleaming metal figures that had lain untouched for millenia, as soon as the Imperial mining teams breached the walls of this massive complex, every single necron awoke.

What followed was the bloodiest war the sector had ever seen, millions of pilgrims, citizens, and guardsmen died on the outer colonies and the Sectors PDF regiments were slowly forced back, Planet by Planet, until only the Shrine-World still bore life.

Fortunately for Feroisa, they had just managed to muster thirteen Imperial Guard Regiments to aid the Caidian sector in the wake of Abbadon's 13th Black Crusade, and had gathered in the Planet's capital for a final parade before boarding their troop ships when the attack hit. Amongst their number were Infantry regiments, Mechanized, Armored, Stormtrooper, and even a squadron of Four Baneblade super-heavy tanks, enough military might to launch and win a crusade. It wouldn't be enough.

Brutal fighting broke out between the soulless invaders and the newly mustered troops, the raw recruits forced to learn the horrors of battle
far sooner than they expected, and it was their inexperience that caused so many casualties.

by the time the horde had reached the walls of the Capital, only a tiny part of that original number remained, no regiment was spared from horrible losses, and the different command structures that quickly fell to the attackers.

in short, the men of the guard were leaderless, confused, surrounded and doomed.

But something good had come out of that brutal crucible of bloodshed. With so few men to call on, and facing a foe that excelled at simple wars of attrition, The Ferosian regiments became experts of combined arms tactics, raids, mobile skirmish lines, ambushes, and using the strengths of each unit to cover the weaknesses of others, trying their hardest to avoid unnecessary loss of life.

That bought them another three months, then, an Imperial fleet arrived in orbit, led by an Inquisitor who had once called this planet home.

Inquisitor Liara Croft of the Ordos Xenos, had arrived in the system while in pursuit of an Eldar fleet, but upon seeing the turmoil of the planet below, re evaluated her priorities and committed her fleet into the defense of her home world, buying enough time for her to gather the survivors and evacuate them, reforming the Imperial Guard into a single regiment under her direct command.

With the planet lost to the alien, Croft was forced to carry out Exterminatus, leaving her and her new regiment with no home and a burning desire for vengeance

Thus the Ferosian First Tomb Raiders were born.

Uniform.

Classified by the order of the Inquisition.
(I haven't decided on one yet.)

I couldnt really think of a serious name for my generic plastic cadian army (my first army btw) i heard this name on a you tube video (nfl crunchtime)

-Essentially they are from a planet consisting of blue glacial fields and snow; nowhere near as cold as valhalla though.
-Tactics: Lots of infantry and a few tanks; occasionally a vendetta. marching gunline.
-Colors: Ice Blue clothes with white camo spots. tanks are ice blue with white, angular patters.
-Discipline:Not as crazy as catachans, but not as strict as mordians or cadians. Everything is customized to the owners liking (see hot rod russ in gallery) and guns come in many colors

*side note: my commander is wielding a powerfist and a cane. In his squad are the dark eldar prisoner models which count as bodyguards, aw yeah...

edit: wow... with all of these serious back stories my army is pathetic

[b]105th Cyclonian Regiment

-Overview-
The Cyclonians are stationed on the world of Cyon, third planet in a system of 6 planets called the Cyo system in the southeast of ultima segmentum, near the south boarders of the Tau empire. They mainly act as the systems secondary defense force (Primary is the Cyclops Chapter) but will often conduct raids against the Tau empire and join up with imperial crusade forces. The Cyo system itself is completely self sufficient but enjoys trade with other nearby systems. Cyon itself is a civilized world of roughly Terran size and mass (0.9 gs) and with roughly the same length year (371 Terran days). The populace almost exclusively live in the worlds large cities, with most of the country area devoted agriculture, industry or has been rendered uninhabitable due to various state atomic wars.

-Culture-
The Cyclonians recruits are not taken exclusively from Cyon but from all the planets in the system, particularly its hive world. Most new recruits receive better training and equipment than a normal guardsman from say a cadian regiment would. Because of this the regiments tend to be much smaller than other imperial guard regiments, relying on more elite and better equipped men rather than waves of "disposable" men.

-Tactics-
When conducting a raid the fleet will lead the way and knock out any orbital defenses, and heavily bombard key areas and secure a safe landing site. Once the transports have landed they will set up (and heavily fortify) a primary base. When attacking an enemy position it will be preceded by artillery/fleet bombardment, then the tanks will move forward bombarding everything in sight. Then finally the elite infantry will follow them up and destroy any survivors. This tends to be the regular way of things, but often they will have to adapt to the situation, something they are also highly trained in. Also something to note is that the Cyclonians will often accompany the cyclops chapter to battle and provide support if it is needed.

Armour: Dark green with black and brown camouflage.
Cloth: Khaki with black and brown camouflage.
Guns: Black/metal/light, military green

River's Renegades
A mixed bag of heretics, revolutionaries, and ne'er-do-wells
-Overview-
Many years ago, there was a man named Commissar River. He was, by all records, a mediocre Commissar at best. Showing just enough drive to keep his position, droning through the monotony of Imperium life, he was but a shell of his former self. Disillusioned with the day-to-day bleak bleakness, Astrates taking the little glory he could claim, and the waves of Penal Legions he saw funneled into the barrel's of the enemy's guns, River began to write a series of journals. Questionable at best, heretical at worst.

Then, the Inquisition came, having caught word of the Commissar's writings. Surrounding the barracks, they ordered the execution of River and his men. A breaking point was reached in the mind of the Commissar. He rallied his troops in the exercise yard. Then, cracking open one of his many journals, he read off a speech he had written a few years prior. He called the Inquisition self righteous human hunters. Claimed the Astrates were tools of oppression. Called upon the common man to rise against their rulers. Yes. River had reinvented the lost human philosophy of Revolutionary Communism. River and his men defended their small base with the fervor of a force twice as large as their own. The small Inquisitorial force eventually withdrew as the Commissar and his men pushed forward, eventually taking a small Imperial Navy vessel as their own. Since then, River's Renegades have marauded through the outer systems, recruiting prisoners with the promise of equality, recruiting common agri-world farmers with the promise of glory, and recruiting small cults with the promise of the overthrowing of the Imperium
-Culture-
When there is no recruitment to be done, nor battles to be fought, life on the vessel can be either enjoyable or a living hell. The cultists keep to them selves, the agri-world farmers either sit and talk about life back at home or play a game of Ball n' Net in the cargo bay, and prisoners are usually busy stealing from one another or brewing a plasteel melting batch of rot-gut. Crew members have been known to disappear randomly or grow horrid mutations from time to time.
-Tithe-
They get 'em where they can.
-Tactics-
Shock and awe. River's Own infantry division rushes into the fray, complemented by Valkyries taking control of the sky. They land, unload their cargo of heavy weapons squads, and patrol the area. Basilisks work away at wearing down the enemy's front line. Leman Russ Battle Tanks take up the center light, spearheading right into the weakened enemy lines. Specialty troops and Commissar River follow the advancing line in armored Chimeras.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

I'm doing the CXXXVII Leviathans. It is the store regiment here in seattle, and it by the community, for the community. We got the idea from our neighbors the Void Knights, but our little project is only in it's infancy. I didn't start the regiment, I was just the first one to join besides the original creator, and to start it going into a group project. As I didn't start it, I dont have the final word and there is a lot of obsolete, innaccurate, extranious info that has changed sece I wrote this up. (Don't kill me George!)

Basic premise; Based on the leviathan of legend, the Leviathans regiment relies on its valkyrie-borne troops to tie up enemy combatants in order for its superheavy and armored companies to arrive and smash all resistance aside.

History: Imperial Guard Regiments are usually limited to one aspect of warfare, Infantry Regiments, Armored regiments, ect. As a system of checks and balances, for example; if an infantry regiment turns traitor, it is shelled by loyalist artillery regiments, if an artillery regiment turns traitor, it is bombed from the skies. The Leviathans odd combination of arms is the result of the direct patronage of Lord General AwesomeName. (somebody insists that the entire regiment got jacked by the INQ, but the founder vehemently denys this) The idea of a self sufficient regiment that could be sent in alone to quell minor insurgencies on backwaters, and not tying up multiple regiments appealed to him. With his sponsorship, the administratum grudgingly agreed to bring about the leviathans, but not without conditions, namely a disproportionate number of priests and commissars attached to the regiment. General Awesome chose the home world of his chosen regiment well (insert further fluff pertaining to the home planet here A volcanic or civilized world, with 3 moons, one I can't remember and 2 of them forge worlds. One of them, Factoria ( ) is a prime producer of transport vehichials and is one of the few worlds to continue to experement and tinker with technology. The other Removed by the Inquisition (and yes, we have written this up, but he made it up by himself and told me in hushed tones, I think that it's a secret)) With the direct support of the general, they got many superheavys, blah-blah, more space for expansion including preferred heavy and special weapons. plasma and autocannon on line squads and melta/las on vets

1st is the Veteran company, filled with a combination of fast moving elements, such as chimeras (with veterans) valkries (with veterans) and Leman Russes

2nd 3rd 5th and 6th Companies; these are the airborne units of the leviathans, mounted almost entirely in valkyries, (with the exception of third, who drop in on grav-chutes directly out of bulk freighters and dropships) they are the first wave, firefighters, patrol, recon, and stronghold assault specialists all rolled into one. Their primary mission however is for a highly mobile, rapid response diversionary force to pin enemies in place until the slower elements arrive.

4th and 7th companies; The high rate of attrition among valkrie pilots means that there are often not enough to equip all units with flyers. These two companies have gone so long without their wings that they have developed a reputation as fine ground based light infantry, so good in fact, that the regiment has decided to give these the lowest priority for new transports and to route all “grounded” squads to the 4th and 7th as to best utilize this strength in hopes that some of this skill may rub off.

9th is either armored or mechanized

11th and 12th are armored

the “lucky” 13th and the 14th are the superheavys,

15-20 either don’t exist or are filled in by volunteers

8th company; MAH COMPANY!!! Most guard regiments, even infantry regiments have at least one mechanized company. In the Leviathans, this is the 8th. Highly mobile in their chimeras, they escort the heavy and superheavy armor and protect it from enemy assault troops. The crown jewel of the company’s fleet of transports (though not officially part of it) is the stormlord that works almost exclusively with them.

Battle Cry, FOR THE HONOR OF FACTORIA!

Hailing from the forge moon of... Factoria they have a natural affinity for machines, almost without exeption as good as your average mechanic on most civilized worlds, they joined the IG because as a forge moon the AdMech doesn't have as much autonomy. Plus, they really weren't into the entire "strive towardsthe perfection of the machine, replace all your body parts with metal, give up all fleshy pleasures" thing.

8th company dramatis personae:

Commissar (blank) In the regimental charter it states that commissars must be attached at a company level, the 8th company got (blank). (blank) is from a planet with exceptionally dense, oxygen rich air, and through the ages the inhabitants of his home world developed an extremely weak respiratory system. Due to this genetic disability, he declined the high-altitude valkyrie duty in favor of keeping his feet firmly on solid ground, where the air is thicker. Even so, he had an unfortunate tendency to pass out in the heat of battle, and elected to wear a respirator during combat.I just love the SL commissar model

Major “Rege” Harrison (name subject to change) the company commander of the 8th, is considered more than a little crazy by his troops, is loud and proud of his being actually a major, is (sadly and bafflingly) the most senior company commander in the regiment and considers himself a tank ace first and an officer second. What is meant by “tank ace” is that he stands on top of the stormlord, shouting no doubt either stirring war cries or vile insults at anyone who will listen, if they could only hear them over the sound of the engines and weapons of “his” tank. Most of the actual commanding in the unit is done by the captain who, as technically part of the support staff rides at the “lowly” post of the command chimera following in the relative safety of the stormlord’s wake. Drive me closer! I want to hit them with my flag!

Another little bit is that the entire regiment (including Mr. Tank Ace) rides into battle in a single dropship. I also have some fluff for the two individual Veteran squads in my army, it seems that the good ol' 8th picks up some oddball charichters, just tell me if you want me to post it.

EDIT: almost forgot, paint scheme, Most are red armor, black fatigues, while the 1st company has a really cool magma effect that takes forever.

Home defence regiment of Myor 7...

Where the moon Myor 7 is situated there is absolutely NO sunlight... so the poor souls of Myor 7 have addapted to the use of searchlight, nightvision, thermal vision ect...

Culture... well the populace enjoy hide and seek during the dark... but with all the critters, waiting eldar, crazy orks, the necron tombs, the scouts for the nids, the landing pad of the drak angels, Adeptus Awesoma, the tau landing pad, etc etc, littered around its not such a good idea.

they live in a City State called Ogwern that hold most of the moon. which is constantly raided all the time...

Colonel Jimmy runs the show, and i have a special character done up for him... he does not like slackers and you are not dead until he personally shoved the barrel down ur throat... the order is called "WHO ORDERED U TO DIE!!! GET UP AND KEEP FIGHTING!!!".

the regiment has been put in disgrace by the inqusition and so fights space marines as much as anyone... there are no commisionars, psychers, priests, mutants or anything!!!

they have special storm troopers who are based of the COG soldiers from gears of war (ill try to post some pics soon)

their tanks represent modern tanks more that the normal leman russ'

tactics: hold out until you can see the whites of their eyes, empty mag and charge.

uniform: Black undercoat with gray drybrush... easy

1st Naval Rifles

MOTTO: DEATH FROM THE ABYSS
UNOFFICIAL MOTTO: OUR SHADOWSWORD IS FOR SELF-DEFENSE ONLY

They work under the same rules the Ecclesiarchy uses to justify the Sisters of Battle. As the Navy is not allowed to possess an Army the Rifles are not a ground force, merely a self defense force for drop zone and Naval installation security. In a bold move Lord Admiral Chester Emden once declared the entire planet of Pensakola III the drop zone and dropped these Sailors were he pleased. The core of this force oddly enough is formed around mechanized infantry rather than air mobile as appropriated former Guard and PDF personnel were heavily leaned on to put the force together. Future plans to become more air mobile as attached Naval Officers gain 'ground security defensive measure' experience.

The Veteran Squads (Veteran Boarding Parties) of this group were the victors of countless boarding actions and close in firefights before going dirtside. Their preferred specialty weapons are shotguns and flamers. Flame weapons hold a special place in these Sailor's hearts as fire is the most dangerous enemy shipboard. Next to heresy of course. And enlisted people with opinions. (Where the heresy comes from) These squads, like all squads are led by unstoppable forces of nature known as 'Chiefs' (count as Sergeant) who wield Chain-Cutlasses and caffeine mugs with ease. Having a Chief around pretty much makes Commissars unnecessary.

Other than the established hard charging Veterans standard line units (Boarding Parties) are composed of blue jackets pulled from their other duties (enginemen, mess cooks, highly skilled technicians with rare skill sets such a working on plasma weaponry) to be generic meat for the grinder as every Sailor is expected to be ready to fight on a boarding party on a moment's notice. Joining the meat are more flamers' mates (FM rating) and meltamen (MZ rating- because MM is already Machinist Mate).

Heavy Weapons Teams (Gunner's Mates) when employed consist of Heavy Bolters for guarding static defensive points.

Backing this force up is a company of tank far too willingly donated by an IG regiment and led by a man of questionable... everything. "Oddball's Misfits" is a 9 tank outfit consisting of the Oddball Special, The Misery Chick, Old Virginia II (Vanquisher), Frank Castle's Revenge (Punisher) and The Beast. The other tanks are still being brought online.

Also present are a squadron of Hellhounds and Sentinels equipped with flamers. They also are in possession of Big Blue, an assumed decommed Shadowsword pressed back into service.

Paint:
Veterans: Digi-pattern codex grey, regal blue and chaos black uniform, regal blue armor
Boarding Parties: space wolves grey shirt, regal blue pants, regal blue armor
Chiefs & Officers: Khaki with regal blue armor

Vehicles: Regal Blue, y'know because if they fall in the water the enemy will never see them coming.

182nd Cadian Air Assault Regiment

Motto: Death From Afar
unoffical motto: Out of the frying pan and into the fire

Overview
The 182nd was first founded as an all Paratroops regiment, but after the death of several high ranking officers and techpriests during the sub-orbital insertion drops of 981.M41, the regiment was re-organized into an Air Assault Regiment complete with its own Valkyrie air support wing. The regiment has had success in several operations where they would drop in, secure a single point and hold until relieved by mechanized infantry or armored regiments. Recently, the 182nd was nearly decimated by a strong Ork counter-offensive by Waaagh Gobsmaka. What was left was re-constituted into E Company, led by Major John Stryker, a Cadian by birth whose battle prowess has led him up the ranks with only minor bionic replacement surgery. The Regiment is undergoing a re-building phase, but E company with its large complement of hardened veterans continues to be sent to the front lines on planets across the Cadian Sector.

Culture
As a regiment from Cadia, these tough soldiers follow Cadian way of life. The 182nd has changed little from its paratroops beginings. They are indoctrined early on in thier training to be selfsufficient and prepare to dig in once the objectives have been taken. The change to an Air Assault regiment has only added swagger to thier steps. The regiment doesn't take on the Whiteshield Corps of conscripts that is so typical of Cadian forces, seeing as thier training is beyond that of the normal Cadian Shocktrooper. Every soldier in the regiment has already seen combat as a whiteshield before being transferred to the regiment. However, the independent nature of the paratroops training has nessecitated the need for several Imperial Commissars per company. Many officers have seen thier death from Imperial Bolt Pistols instead of xenos weapons.

Thithe Grade
Every single person born on Cadia is required to join the Guard in some fasion. The 182nd takes only males due to thier excessively high battle casualty rate and higher physical training standards.

Tactics
The 182nd on the offense, uses its Valkyrie Assault Carriers to deploy infantry squads in position to take the chosen objective, while heavy weapons squads cover them from afar. Armored units from supporting regiments will typically be on hand to lend some help to the assaulting infantry units. Veterans typically are infiltrated into position well ahead of the main body of assault troops. On the Defense, the 182nd looks more like a standard Infantry Regiment. Veterans will be aboard the regiments valkyries ready to deploy behind the enemy lines once they begin to break upon the infantry's bayonets.

Igneon 93rd
Homeworld: Igneon is extremely volcanically and seismically active. The Atmosphere is entirely inhospitable so the populace live in a variety of sealed installations, and orbital craft. The world is strategically important because of the vast mineral and energy resources, lava flows are routed to collosal cooled vats, where the heat energy is harvested and minerals are then mined from the solidified igneos rock. These vats are largely automated or servitor operated, the main industry humans are involved in is maintaining and monitoring the flow of magma beneath the planet's crust, no mean feat! Refining ores is the second largest industry. The third takes place not upon the planet's surface itself, or beneath it, but in the skies above it. The gases in the upper atmosphere are highly valuable as fuels, so orbital refineries deploy vast flotillas of cigarette shaped craft to collect these gases, and once refined to transport them to the orbital spacedock Victum Dominus.

Regiments: The regiments of Igneon are generally light infantry, the 93rd is light mechanised infantry. There are few special weapons and energy weapons are preffered as they utilise that which Igneon has in abundance. Whilst training the regiments carry with them archaic forcefield generators to protect them from the worst thier planet can throw at them. Still many die in training, despite planetary disposition to robust physical form, this leads to only the hardiest of recruits seeing any real action.

Tithe: As Igneon provides so much mineral, fuel and energy it is not subject to tithes, however to curb immense population growth and resulting unemployment one child from every family is taken into the Igneon regiments.
