Can we pls catalogue who stayed loyal and for each what the fluff tells us happened to each?

Who is most likely to return?

In the Horus Heresy the administration was already taking over from the warmaster's council. If one did return, would they be able to break through the bureaucracy and unite humanity to relaunch th coordinated fury of the crusade?

Most of them are dead, some, like Khan, Corax, and Leman Russ, are said to return when the Imperium needs them most.

The only alive primarch that is "alive" in the sense that it's known is Lion 'El Johnson

Not that the traitors got off easily either. Horus was not only killed, but had his soul obliterated in the bargain. Konrad Curze, aka Night Haunter, was assassinated by Callidus assassin M'Shen. Alpharius was killed by Roboute Guilliman.

If by "rewarded' you mean "stripped of their free will and humanity and made into ravening monsters at the eternal service of evil gods", then yes, they were rewarded. Still, at least some of them perished, and one, as mentioned before, got his very soul obliterated from existence.

Lion'el is the only one able to. He is asleep inside the Rock. Actually alive, not in stasis or near dead.

Most likely untrue. The Ultramarines have no record of such a thing, and given the nature of the Alpha Legion, it was likely just misinformation.

Aye, as far as I recall, Robute Guillaume is not completely dead. His stasis field prevents him from finally dying. However, taking the stasis field away would kill him within minutes, I guess, so...his aliveness is more of a moral boost to the Ultramar realm than anything else.

With all tghe fients and double-dealing that the Alpha legion dabbles in (as well as how easily girlyman beat him) I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the dead Alpharius was simply a diversion. (After all, the Alpha legion wasn't fazed in the slightest)

Apparently it was Fulgrim who slit Girlymans throat in the end, no?

Most are missing though.
Khan: Raced into the webway after the DE. (so he may not be affected by time or anything)
Russ: Someone threw a stick...he's still looking.

As for the others, I have no clue.

Ferrus Manus was a loyalist. He's the Iron Hands primarch.

Word of god says that Jonson's alive, and Gulliman's status is known to be mostly dead. Dorn, Sanguinius, and Ferrus Manus are all confirmed dead. The other four are missing. There are legends saying Vulkan and Russ will return in the end times, while Jhagatai Khan and Corax didn't leave any enigmatic prophecies. Russ and Corax were last seen heading for the Eye of Terror, Khan entering the web way, and Vulkan didn't say where he was going.

First of all, it's "phased" not "faced". Second, this is because Alpharius had an identical twin, Omegon, who would sometimes play the part of his brother. The secret was very well kept. Ergo, Omegon simply stepped in and took over his brother's role.

But which one died?
And how the hell does a primarch have an identical twin?
There would probably have been extensive surgery on one of his soldiers or something to make it *look* like him. I don't think ANY primarchs had twins running around.

So...a synopsis:

Roboute Gulliman--Did in fact kill Alpharius in a duel. Fought Fulgrim, who stabbed him in the neck with a poisoned sword. Gulliman sits in a temporal stasis field, frozen in the instant of death. Even though it defies every law of physics, some say he is slowly healing.

Leman Russ--Departed into the Eye of Terror, leaving enigmatic prophecies about returning in the end times. Supposedly took the 13th company with him.

Corax--Departed into the Eye of Terror, leaving no such prophecies. After the Dropsite Massacre, returned to his homeworld to make more Space Marines. Due to his inability to do the job as well as the Emperor, they were flawed. When the time of the second founding came, Corax killed them all, and went into isolation. After a year, he left and went into the Eye of Terror. His last recorded words were 'Never more'

Vulkan--Along with many loyalists, was ambushed by turncoat legions at the Dropsite Massacre of Isstvan V. Vulkan is never seen after this.

Ferrus Manus--At the Dropsite Massacre, fought Fulgrim and was killed.

Lion El'Jonson--While fighting a war within his chapter, the planet was killed. The Lion was taken by the 'Watchers in the Dark' and now sleeps, awaiting some big end time type event.

Jaghatai Khan--Went to recover prisoners taken by Dark Eldar. Never returned. Is believed to have fallen into the Webway, or been lost in the warp.

Rogal Dorn--Died attacking a Black Crusade flagship with a greatly outnumbered force. Was victorious, but lost his life in the process. His body was recovered by his chapter.

Sanguinius--Fought Horus during the Horus Heresy. Slain.

That's got them all, I think.

The beautiful thing is nobody knows which 'one' died, Alpharius and Omegon where one soul in two bodies, so it could have been either one. The fabulous Hydra has many heads :p

And extensive surgery? To fool a brother Primarch. It would have to be some very, very UBER extensive surgeory to fool a Primarch and also to even stand up in a fight with one.

Alpharius & Omegon where one person, they just happened to be seperated into two seperate bodies. They were for all extents and purposes twins. Read 'Legion' - It shines some light on the Alpha Legion, and actually took them from being one of my most disliked legions, to now one of my favourites.

And you cannot question how it is possible for them to be twins, but not question how such fantastical beings such as Primarchs existed anyway.

We've explained this before. THEY"RE THE SAME PRIMARCH!!!!, but they have two bodies and a split soul. It's like the opposite of a siamese twin.

Alpharius (or Omegaman) had a backup body in the form of the other twin. There is no reason he could not have simply lost one of his bodies and then gone to hide out for a while.
