Hello, just got into BFG with a friend.... I have aquired some ships and wanted to create a list of about 1500 pts.... Some help would be appreciated...

1X Mars
1X Overlord
1X Lunar
2X Dictator
1X Dominator
1X Gothic
1X Dauntless

*** 12 cobras and 3 sword escorts*** not really used thus far

As for ships, you will love your Gothic class ship, but always pair her up with either a lunar or Dominator... Personally I love the Mars, and I use her as my flag ship.

use the 12 cobras and launch massive torpedo spreads... you will see why after you do it...

good luck and may the emperor be with you

I would do a list like this:

fleet admiral + 2rr
Mars + upgrade
Dictator
Dominator
Gothic
Dauntless
3 Swords
5 Cobra's (1 of 2 & 1 of 3).

If Ld on the Mars is rolled for high enough (ld8) then don't hesitate to place your admiral on another ship. THis to avoid a point sink in one ship making it a very juicy target.
(lol, says someone who takes the flame of asuryan + hero + 3 re-rolls, totalling up to 570pts! in a 1500pts game)

i wouldn't use the cobra's for mahoosive salvo's of torpedo's to do this you have to bunch them up and they REALLY take a pounding from chaos or eldar gunnery.

best bet is to use small squadrons to channel the enemies ships.

best way to do this is have them fire off salvo's of torpedo's he'll have to turn away or try and shoot em down (v difficult) you can make him manouvre into lanes so you can pick him up with your capital ships.

also consider a carrier vessel. carriers can win a game if properly supported with the sheer amount of shooty they pop out in the form of bombers, also fighter screens win against torpedos and enemy bombers.

overall have fun, use the cover of asteroids/minefields/planets and try to close quickly as imperial guns are shorter ranged then most other forces.
