Ok so just got into BFG and decided to do a Space Marine Fleet and after looking through the rules a hybrid list here's what I came up with.

Master of the Fleet

SM Battlebarge

2 x SM Strike Cruisers

2 x Imperial Lunar Class Cruisers

3 x Hunter Escorts

3 x Hunter Escorts

3 x Hunter Escorts

So how did I do for a first attempt and what changes would you make

Good start. Pretty solid core.

I actually based my own Segmentum Solar fleet off of this one. Pretty solid core, have yet to play test it. but ill let you know how it all turns out once i have some battles

Segmentum Solar has no Space Marine vessels...

The Armageddon Sector is in the Segmentum Solar. So yes, the Segmentum Solar has SM.
