I think gorkamorka was the best ork related game ever and they stopped making it, I think they should bring it back, post your views on it here.

Gorkamorka was an excellent game, really good fun. Sadly GW don't make it anymore, but I have heard some runours that they may be doing a new version like they did with Space Hulk which would be unreal. If Gw are listening, I'll buy 2 sets if ye make it!

Check out my gallery for some Gorkamorka related pics!

Agreed,it would be great if Gorkamorka was re-released in the fasion of Space Hulk (which, even though I don't play, was happy to see return),my only concerns would be GW handleing the release properly ie:no "limmited availibility" and keeping it some what afordable for people.

I loved Gorkamorka ^^ cramming 20+ boys into one rickety truck, the joy of rolling post-game to see what interesting injuries your lads got lumbered with, the awesomeness of the GRC good times

The problem with gorka morka is the same problem that necromunda has. It only appeals to one part of an already small group of buyers. In gorkamorka, you get to play orks..... eventually they added rules for grots and diggas.... but you were orks.... don't like orks? Tough. In Necromunda, you play humans, don't like humans? Tough. You would think mordheim would appeal to a larger crowd, since you can play any race you want after the expansions.... but alas, it is set in the fantasy setting...... which is the smaller of the two main GW games. Essentially GW needs to release a "mordheim" esque 40k based game. I think they attempted this in the 4th ed rulebook, however utterly failed with the lack of support for the game..... the problem is the setting.... finding a setting small enough that only a "gang" sized group would be fighting over it.... out of several different species.... is rather hard in the 40k universe of "You're not human, I shoot you dead"

My old GorkaMorka orks went a on a waaagh. I used them as the basis of an ork army I gave to my boyfriend a few years ago. So the boyz are still out and about, although nowadays they are scrapping with my spacemarines or stealer cultists rather than eachother :-)

well... You could check out the Old Rogue Trader book/system... Or make your own. If you know what you want, it should be not too difficult. It actually provided a planet with most races for your games.

You could download it (don't tell GW)... hit that Google button!

I read it last week, many mechanisms are still in use (though, since RT, you can hit things more easily in cc) but you can split up squads during the game. It's best suited for scenario games, but if you play new 40k, use that as a base, and RT to get that skirmish flavour.

I believe the 40K Universe can be scaled down to a skirmish style game. We have been working on our project for over 1.5 years and we have come a long way.

The rulebook is pretty solid and is very extensive. We don't have all the races but we are working on them.

If you like Gorka Morka/Necromunda/Mordheim and 40K then you should like this.

If you are a Mathhammer person then you will not like this Death Squad is modeled after skirmish games and is adapted for it.

gorkamorka rocked!
it was far more irreverant that Necromunda and boasteded a far more in depth upgrade path for characters (and vehicles) that survived deep into a campaign.

though it did lead to some uncomfortable overheard conversations.

I doubt that Gorkamorka would get a Space Hulk treatment. Space Hulk is a canned board game. Gorkamorka is still a miniature game. Although a "starter" box could be released, there would be no point in doing it. Necromunda was always a stronger game, and Mordheim follows. Gorkamorka was fun, but it was released in order to help push some new ork models and transition to 3rd edition.

Regardless, it is a good and fun game. With the new plastics and varieties of properly sized vehicles, one can just get a game going without the need for product support (really, what else could GW do for it?). Your best bet is to convert up a few mobs and dupe your friends into playing. If they don;t have to buy any new minis (unless they want to), there is no excuse not to try it.
