I have started this topic as i am getting wound up hearing about Squats everywhere, don't get me wrong they were a great army list in there day and should be remembered fondly, but it is stupid how every year at the Games Day sales, design and production stands all you can hear is "bring back squats".

Theres a strong chance GW wont do that Because there is very little money in it, and even if they did the same people jumping up and down saying bring them back would be complaining about the back story, price and how they messed up the models. Apart from which there is some good articles online about how to scratch build your own, along with unofficial army lists and even the possibility of old models of ebay. Somewhere i've seen and old catlog showing some of the figures, so get a cheap sculpting tool and some milliputt and use those images as a guide for some of the more esoteric vehicles.

Basically i'm sick of people complaing about the halfway universe oddity known as squats and saying there more than enough combined expertise an infomation on here to realize a large squat army.

If you erase an army people will always complain personnaly I believe that Dwarfs should remain in fantasy and not in 40K but then I would get a sad on if they got rid of Brettonians who don't get much attention from GW so I can understand people complaining.

Squat, like the exercise? It's not like you can't work your legs with something else, I don't know why you're getting so worked up.

I feel the Squats fans' pain.

However, if you have the original figures the army is still legal and playable as a "counts as" IG force. (In first edition, the Squats were abhuman Imperial Army members like Ogryn and Ratlings still are.)

There was also a good range called Scrunts from Olley's Armies, who closed up shop earlier this year but they are reopening so keep an eye out.

it aslo gets me personally as Gw treats their fans appallingly compared to other model manufacturers..... but enough with the rhetoric for now...
I wouldnt mind seeing scratch built squat armies as there are some seriously talented painters and sculpters on here.

Huh? I don't get it.

All of the "when are the Squats coming out?" questions from 3E have all been replaced by "when are the Dark Eldar coming out?" in 4E & 5E.

And I'm sure if/when GW does something with DE, the question will shift to some other army.

It's not like gamers have patience, or GW puts out a long-term schedule for this kind of thing...

BTW, Squats as Orks isn't a bad swap.

No, mean when you go to GW events such as games day you get at least 10 people having a go a the model designers about the squats and you can see the people just roll their eyes and die inside..... and i prefer the orks to squats although am not too fussed about the new DE as I prefer the currant models even if they are a bit camp.
