So I was thinking of compiling all the fluff of the Thousand Sons into a single tome. (and could go into the New Thousand Sons codex I am writing)

So I would like some help collecting all the fluff than pertains to this Legion there is.

I have the Slaves to Darkness and the Lost and the Damned books,
I have all the Index Astartes, the Liber Tzeentch, the 4th Ed and 3.5 ed Chaos Codices and the Horus Heresy series of novels.

I know one of the SW books has a Thousand Sons story in it. Which one was that?
And I know we should be getting two books in the HH series next year.

This is a pretty good start but I was wondering what else I need?

Don't be afraid to add your own flair to the fluff. I find alot of people appreciate well thought-out stories and ideas, and with the huge wealth of background you've got there, you should be able to come up with something awesome ^^

I agree with the dark lord, personal fluff is great.

I disagree with the two above. If you are trying to make a legitimate compilation of Thousand Sons information don't add your own stories. Keep those separate.

The difference between legitimate and non-legitimate is simply someone elses opinion, be it the actual guys from GW or the reader themselves.

Too much are we pinned in by what GW say is the lore, yet on the other cheek we moan like hell when something they do we disagree with. There is no reason for Thanatos not to be creative with the lore. If it's interesting and makes people think then noone really loses. If you want a carbon copy of the (often contradictory) stories that BL & GW release, then follo ph34r's advice.

Thanks for the encouragement, I will certainly be adding my own fluff when it comes to writing the final codex, but to start I want to collect all the 'official' fluff in one place.

I agree that personnal fluff is awesome but it can be tough to not slip into fanboi territory. (But then GW can be very guilty of that themselves)
If I were writing it I would make Magnus the Dr Doom/Scorpius of the 40k universe, but with more cowbell.

Try the lexicanum it has a lot of info on the thousand sons.

Yeah, add a story about Tzeentch`s treachery against his own warriors. Everybody loves that

Next months White Dwarf is going to have some scenarios for the Thousand Sons and Space Puppies. With any luck, it won't just be an article about how BA the Space Puppies are.
