I was playing a game of 40k at my LGS with another kid at turn 2 he says it's too broing and he'll be leaving at turn 3 (angering me already)
Halfway through turn 2 he starts barking at me about taking too long (but he was doing the same but thats a whole new can of worms)
I start rolling to shoot at his rhino and mid way through he gets up and walks away to get a mountain dew i say what the heck and roll to see what happens and the rhino gets back... he gets back and throws a fit that i didn't roll in front of him and yadda yadda yadda.

what do you think? was i being TFG?

meh im 14 ( a bit too mcuh on the chubby side)
he was around 11? 12? (a bit more than me)

Ah... i think the best choice would be to not play him again.
Play with adults , show them how mature you are.

i dont go to the store often im mainly paingintg (oddly different then all the kids at my lgs)
the adults always seem to come in and play witht heir own little groups...kids seem to drift more...

I totally understand , the adults are stereotyping you along with others.

In every group , there is always the alpha i guess.
Find that person , politely introduce yourself infront of him and his group .
Finish the into with something like... " im looking forward to playing with you guys " + a smile and hand shake .
( and then walk away doing your own thing , dont mope around them after )

You probably should of told him that you were rolling. If (after that point in time) he wonders off, make the roll. Of course, ideally you could have spent thst time finding something else to do (like running other models) or re-thinking your strategy.

BTW, if he thought the game was boring (and you weren't enjoying yourself) then why did you both want to continue to Turn 3?

dude stop going to the games workshop store to many little ones their. Find a new store if yours currently is inhabited by the little ones.
I don't have a problem with them but if all of the kids there are like that i suggest getting a new store or if you really cant find one then talk to the manager im pretty sure he'll listen.
btw is the kid a regular or a just come for once every 2 months?
oh and dont worry if i were you i would have kicked his ass outside of the store i really hate people like that. Once i was playing this game i went to the wash room really quick then when i came back i found him painting on the table and 2 other people at our table playing our game.

I just ordered my copy of The Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer. I plan to carry this with me at all times and leaf through it frantically when my Guard are doing poorly.

I agree with cheesepie. I play at a regular ol' gaming store in NIU's campus that has a sizeable club size. And honestly, the only kids that ever show up are accompanied by parents. So far, nobody I know of has had an unfortunate accident.

You did fine man. Id say if you want to get into a game with some of the older guys, just ask politely. Tell them they wont regret the game. Once you play a good game and prove you arnt a spaz like they think, your golden. I give people a chance or two at being able to play. Hell my nephew plays pretty decent and hes 9. Yes once in awhile I have to snap the fingers, but cmon hes 9 what 9 y/o wont space in the middle of a game.

If someone is acting like a jerk, go with your gut instinct! Hell, its your time you're wasting by being involved with, or around these people....

Look, you're 14 yrs of age, so start making some good habits now, to avoid being the guy thats the butt of everyones jokes later in life! Don't be bullied or made to feel you should do something that quite obviosuly feels wrong.

And by no means come onto a web forum to get your actions justified, what ever they may be!

In life you'll constant run into a-holes.....just remember you have a choice. I can go through a whole list of things I WOULD HAVE DONE! but how is that going to help you?

Can I ask just how sucessful this roll was?

If it was a mere shaken/weapon destroyed/immobilised then I don't know why the kid would complain unless he really did want to be present for the rolls.
If you were very lucky and seemed to roll just sixes all the way, then I could kinda see the kids point of view.

Anyhow, the point is moot so long as you declared that you were shooting it and rolling. If you didn't say so, then it is not unreasonable for the kid to ask for a re-roll.

i already had the weapons off of it....
and by opened up vehicle destroyed but not exploded
