So i wanted a hard hitting, low character count army tell me what you guys think

BSB with Princes for fun, can run over to spearelves to help if need be. Mage there for scrolls, also in 1999 no lords so max 3 dice usually at a time. odd number of swordmasters because well i didn't know what else to put in and to help survive shooting. Figure with 3 squads something will get across. I know i am weak against gunlines, and i am tempted to get rid of bsb to get my ld up to 9 instead of 8 on my general. But i dont know what to do, maybe add another DP to two squads and run as a noble on foot w/ AOC, GW.
Biggest problems i see in this army, psychology tests, which i can fix with banners but i tried to go for more models.
Anyways C&C appreciated

Hahah. Oh man I'd love to field that against someone just to see their faces when you place that many swordmasters on the table.

The most I'd suggest is dropping the swordmasters all to 15 and the Spears to 21 to upgrade the mage to a lvl2 and get yourself a Skeinsliver. It'll be helpful to avoid a turn of shootinng against your SM's.

For playing VC, aren't your swordmasters going to possibly have trouble since they're going to need to test for fear? You could give one the lion standard, and one the standard of balance, and another the negative modifier to hit standard.

I don't know, you said you didn't know what to spend points on, so I figured I'd make a suggestion . I'd really rather see a unit of white lions or phoenix guard than the 3rd squad of swordmasters imho.

And while I'm spending with house money, I'd really want to see another RBT instead of the eagle, too! I know you couldn't do all of these things, but maybe one of these suggestions will be in line with what you were thinking

@RiTides-dont know the negative modifier to hit standard, lion standard might not be a bad idea on one. I know that 2 RBTs are much more useful than one, princely because you can start to cause panic checks, but i find my eagle so worth while. Warmachine hunting/annoyance, redirecting.

The reason i wanted to use 3 blocks of SM is that I figured with one block of a harder unit, they would just not be shot and would end up in CC so their extra shooting armor would be wasted (why would you waste shots on WLs/PGs when there are tasty SMs right next to them) So that was my reasoning on that, plus I thought it would be fun to say to my opponent, "ok so i am fielding 45 SMs today" and see the look on their face.

Dont know where to scrape up points for everything without dropping a lot, I like having a few extra men in the SM to help from the massive shooting, and I like the idea of a lvl2 Mage, as well as Lion standard, I might try to go 21 Spear Elves, 15 of all the SMs, one with Lion Standard, and a Lvl 2. So i drop a few SMs and spears and gain an immunity to fear/terror on one unit and a lvl 2 mage.

The Lion Standard could be switched out for skiensliver, but that will have to be a play test thing to see which is generally better. Right now i am leaning towards Lion banner, although at least in 1999 there usually aren't too many ridden monsters and only 1 stank/treemen/giant/hydra to worry about.

If i dont think i am going to get first turn (they have less units, no skiensliver) i will deploy an inch back and hopefully that will reduce some of the shooting against me in the first turn.

Finally, what do you think are the highest priorities for my RBT, assuming it makes it past turn 2 which might not be the case (dont have anything to defend it) It might have to be, turn 1 fast cav/fliers, same on turn 2, turn 3 if still alive shoot
1)rare monsters
2)side shots on knights
3)get rid of a rank bonus on huge static cr
4)normal shots at knights

trying to make it so that this army can also play at 2000 was somewhat tricky but i think i came up with something I liked, the only real changes are spearelves have to be dropped for 2 units of archers, the second change is that at 2000 i felt like i needed more magic defense, so I went with an archmage, who also increased my Ld. the rest of the changes were trying to find points to fit in the more expensive units.
