who honestly chooses the valkyrie ove the vendetta? seriously?
valkyrie- multi-laser, 2 hellstrike missiles, extra armour, searchlight. transports 12
vendetta- 3 twin-linked lascannons, extra armour, searchlight. transports 12
no-brainer!

I prefer the valk with MRP, because I have enough anti-tank in my army.

If I take MRPs, I can move 12 and fire all weapons at infantry targets.

A Valkyrie w/ Missile pods is a much better transport than a Vendetta. It can always move 12" and fire all of its guns, whereas the Vendetta has to choose between moving slowly and shooting, or moving fast and losing 2/3rds of its firepower.

Depending on what the rest of your army looks like, two large blasts and a multi-laser can be a superior weapon load out by itself. If you're running a lot of melta-vets and lascannon HWTs, perhaps you don't need three more lascannons, and need the extra anti-infantry shots.

Each ship has its place. It's not the no-brainer you claim.

All the reasons above are reasons why people have Valks instead of Vendetta's. Also, personally, I like the Valk and it's cheaper points wise as well.

I took the Valkyrie. Already have a Vulture with AT firepower so 3 more lascannons are unnecessary.

I have 4 of the chassis with fully magnetized weapons. Often times i Run 2 Vendettas and 2 valyks together (each vend is a seperate squad and the valyks are together) this provides a good mix of AT and anti-infantry for my aircav army.

Vendetta all the way for me. Nothing ever moves in my army so the twin linked lascannons are nice.

I use a combination of 2 Vendettas supported by 1 Valkyrie w Rocket pods. This is the "default force" for battles where I don´t have intelligence on enemy forces. Valkyries suppress enemy infantry while the Vendettas crack vehicles and monsters. Both have their uses.

On the flip side I struggle to see the Value of a Vendetta over a valkyrie when evaluated within the context of the entire IG codex.

As mentioned by a previous poster, I think the best flier loadout possible is a Valkyrie with two multiple rocket pods. This gives the ship the ability to function as a 12” melta gun delivery vehicle and has the ability to pour out sick firepower on the contents of whatever vehicle gets blown up.

I struggle to find value in a fast vehicle that can only fire 1/3 of its weapons when it moves 12”. Coupled with AV 12 / AV 10 rear, it’s just too fragile. On a model that hovers above about a foot over the battlefield with a silhouette that dwarfs a landraider or monolyth this just doesn’t make sense to me from a practical perspective... not to mention the cost/benifit.

I’ve seen many Vendetta’s used by the guard players at my LGC. I also see an overwhelming number of destroyed Vendetta’s laying on the tables of the players during games. People hear; “3 twin linked lascannons!?!?” and pop goes the Vendetta.

I'm building 2 Valks with MRPs because they're better for my army that way.

I have Demolishers and Meltas, so I don't need Lascannon.
