Record-Breaking Registration for 2010
When we say AdeptiCon 2010 is going to be the biggest AdeptiCon ever, we’re not just speaking metaphorically. Our online registrations are proceeding at a breakneck pace.

Because of that, we are limiting the full swag bag to the first one thousand attendees who register on-line. Past contents have included novels, acrylic templates, one of a kind models, fantastic sculpts from some of the hottest companies on the market, tokens, templates, magnets, bases, discount coupons, and much more. We’ll be continually announcing the contents of this year’s swag bag as we get closer to AdeptiCon. This year’s swag bag will include :

Courage and Honour (Hardcover) by Graham McNeill

The noble Ultramarines epitomize the Space Marines, the genetically enhanced warriors who protect the Imperium from its foes. Newly returned from the Eye of Terror, Captain Uriel Ventris must redeem himself in the eyes of his battle–brothers, who fear he may have been tainted by Chaos. When the planet Pavonis is invaded by tau, what better opportunity could Uriel have to join his Chapter in combat and prove that his honour is beyond reproach?

Empire in Chaos by Anthony Reynolds
When Annaliese Jaeger's village is overrun and destroyed, she and an injured elf captive are the only survivors. As the two unlikely companions fight their way towards Blackfire Pass, Annaliese discovers within herself powers of courage and faith that inspire all around her. But when the Pass is attacked by the hordes of Chaos, Annaliese and her companions must fight alongside the Imperial army or the Empire will be doomed.

Reserve your swag bag by signing up today at http://www.adepticon.org/cart and secure your spot at AdeptiCon 2010.

Sponsor Spotlight: Battle Foam
We’ve gotten back together with Romeo at Battle Foam, one of our AdeptiCon sponsors, to talk about what’s going on at Battle Foam and anything that AdeptiCon’s attendees can expect. Whether you’re a Games Workshop, Privateer Press, or Flames of War player, BattleFoam has something to offer for your wargaming transport means.

Click on the link below to check out the whole spotlight and find out about Battle Foam’s upcoming releases, including a special release that will be unveiled at AdeptiCon 2010.

Lord of the Rings at AdeptiCon 2010
The Lord of the Rings events feature fantastic prize support for our winners as well as awesome swag for every attendee. Lord of the Rings players will receive a special edition Priority Token featuring one of the factions in Lord of the Rings. In addition, we also have special gaming tokens and objective markers in the works, all free as part of the Lord of the Rings tournament registration.

We’re lining up some great Lord of the Ring prize support. For our Championship winner, we are once again thrilled to have an autographed item from Peter Jackson; a framed picture of Mr. Jackson on the deck of the S.S. Venture from the set of King Kong.
In addition we have several copies of the Deluxe Edition of The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien to give out at our events. This edition of the book comes in a slip case and features a brand-new red-and-black Map of Beleriand and a hard backed cover stamped in gold foil with a unique motif of the Helm of Hador.

Finally, we also have two poster collections that feature paintings from Alan Lee. Each collection features 6 paintings with one set focused on images from The Lord of the Rings while the other contains images celebrating the 60th anniversary of The Hobbit.

Register online for Lord of the Rings or other events online at http://www.adepticon.org/cart.

Currently anyone of 01/27/09 that is signed up is under the 1k attendance number. We will post once to www.adepticon.org once we exceed the threshold. Keep in mind as well that doesn't mean we won't be giving bags out beyond the 1,000 mark. They just might not be 100% complete bags.

Generally, we do not make a habit discussing individual attendance at an event. I can tell you that recent events have been a topic of discussion for the staff. Additionally, the Conduct Policy for 2010 has been updated. http://www.adepticon.org/10rules/2010conduct.pdf

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I believe the total for the 40K Championships is 240, with plans to essentially split the players in half and run two Championships simultaneously (each with its own prize pool, awards, qualifiers to the GW Nationals, etc.)

Signing up immediately is highly recommended, especially if you're planning on playing in 40K events. Extra slots have already been added to the Team Tourney, Championships, Combat Patrol, and Gladiator, as all four events are exceeding previous registrations. I fully expect the Championships and Combat Patrol to be sold out by the end of the week, or by next week at the latest.

OO OO better yet make it IRONMAN. for those of you who don't know what ironman is it requires your models a hammer, and a whole lot of tears. Everytime a model is killed you smash it with a hammer. Yep that little bugger shouldn't have rolled bad!!@!

There is a possibility for a final match depending on flight schedules and the like:

The response to the AdeptiCon 2010 Warhammer 40K Championships has been overwhelming! The event sold out much quicker than anyone excepted and it seems to have caught a number of people off guard. We have been hatching a plan to remedy this, and are pleased to announce the availability of 60 additional tickets for the event (offered to people on the waitlist first)!

Now you might be asking yourself, how are they going to run a 3-round, 240-person Warhammer 40K event? The answer is, we’re not going to! Sunday will now be broken up into two, concurrent 120-person events – each with its own full set of awards! Additionally, each event will act as a qualifier for the Games Workshop Tournament Circuit, securing the top two finishers in each tournament a spot in Las Vegas!

There is also the possibility for a final head-to-head round between the winners of each event later on Sunday evening if both players are available. This round will be entirely optional, dependent on player availability, and will have additional prize support.

There are an extremely limited number of tickets available and once they sell out, no additional tickets will be added, so get them fast!

Once all 240 people have signed up, we will generate a random set of numbers (something like this from random.org) that will be assigned to everyone in alphabetical order of email address. Then the fields will be split into two equal fields.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I am surprised that it is selling out so fast.

Normally if they sell out it is just prior to Adepticon, or they have some tickets left over and the Chicago locals that can't make up their mind straggle in on the day of the event.

I guess Adepticon has been getting bigger and bigger, and the economy kept some people away last year, but this year it is open season.

Same thing as always...someone has to be willing to step up and run it.

BFG happened because I volunteered to get the ball rolling, then someone took it over after the first two years.

Yakface is running the Space Hulk event.

Matthias has long been a champion of Epic.

LotR itself at AdeptiCon owes a great debt to Jaime Welling. He's done massive work in both organizing and promoting the event, building it from something we did because GW really wanted us to do so, to something that's worthy of standing on its own as an AdeptiCon signature event.
