Hey Everyone,

I've been pretty busy the past few months, mostly with personal stuff, but now that I have most of the stuff taken care of, I've turned my eye towards considering the possibility of attending Adepticon.

I haven't had a chance to check out the official website yet, but I heard the Tourney sign-ups were closed. Unfortunately, that's usually the main reason I would want to make the effort and try to get some last minute cash together and go. I still have a few huge bills to pay off this month, so I'm uncertain I'll be able to save up enough cash anyways.

Of course there's always the issue of hotel rooms and finding people to share a ride with so I can split the cost of fuel. Fortunately, I live fairly close (I live in Columbus, OH. About 6 hrs away).

So, I'm just trying to decide if it's even worth the effort to go. I hear that there might be casual pick-up games, and they might even throw together tournaments with the spare people. Of course, there's always things like the ForgeWorld booth, but I was really hoping to compete in a tourney for Prize support and Fun...because I don't see a lot of those around Columbus.

I wanted to go last year too, but I was either too broke or inexperienced.

Looks it will be the same this year.

So, what do you think?

With the lack of any proper GW GTs, all the 40K tournaments at Adepticon sold out pretty much in record time...the one that lasted the longest was the Gladiator (I'm not sure if all the tickets were accounted for before pre-registration ended or not).

Of course, you can always get on the waiting list and hope for the best, but beyond the Gladiator, I'm guessing the wait lists for the rest of the tourneys are probably fairly large already.

There are plenty of other games to try, however...I'm running a Space Hulk tournament on Sunday that doesn't require you to bring anything but yourself, plus this year they have flames of war and Warmachine/Hordes too.

Anyway, the best bet is to pick the stuff you'd be interested in and send an email to the adepticon@gmail.com address and ask how big the wait lists are for those events and then based on that make the decision on whether or not to go.

Good luck!

If cash is an issue, I would stay at home and save up for next year. That way you can find people to get a ride from and share a room with.

As Yakface says, a lot of events and seminars are sold out, so there is a good chance that you might not be able to get into any events.

Edit: Here is a link to the events that are still open. If you find some you like, then go for it!
