So, I'm off to two tournaments in the near future. The FIRST on is the Platinum Devil event at Canterbury University (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/275792.page) and the next, in August, is the Dakka Dakka 40k Tourney at Warhammer World in August (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/274620.page). Both are 1000pts. My army is already sorted for Canterbury - Penal Legion - but which army should I take to Warhammer World?

There are 24 players, currently 6 Orks, 4 Imperial Guard, 2 CSM, and a load of oddly represented ones. Nobody has yet taken Daemons or Witchunters. I'm looking more for what will make the tourney more interesting (in terms of new armies or cool models for people to looks at) rather than the most competitive.

SLAANESH DAEMONS - nobody is taking Daemons, so that'll make things more interesting all round, plus they look cool, plus they're already finished.

SQUATS - Yes, take an entire army of Squats to Warhammer World. Eaten by bugs? That'll show em! On the downside, there are already four other IG armies in this...

ARBITES - These play as Witch Hunters, and nobody has taken them either yet. Also, Arbites look COOOOOL

They will be the most interesting to play against I think

Plus that will be another chaos player if we can get a "good vs evil" apoc game in on Sunday.

Another vote for Daemons here, it will certainly be interesting to see how my guard fare against them

I went with Squats, purely because I'm interested to take a look at your army close up - looks pretty sweet on these pages from what I've seen.

I'd love to see a Daemon army on the tabletop, have never faced them. And of all the Chaos Gods, I love Slaanesh.

I voted for the arbites just because I want them to see some love. I raelly should break mine out some time and see how they fair.

I think you should play squats.

#1. I want you to remind everyone that squats are still out there no matter how much the studio pretends that they don't.

#2. Each time you kill a unit you can tell your opponent that they that have just been squated!

Arbites. Has to be done.

Will your Daemons be able to take down valks? I voted Arbites cos I hope to see them on a table top some day.

Ooh, after an initial lead by the Daemons, the Squats have pulled into the lead, followed by surprise runners-up the Arbites. It's worth mentioning that I already have all these armies built, but some will need some additional love...

Slaanesh Daemons - http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Ian%27s_Slaaneshi_Daemons - were completed a few months back. So there's the full selection to choose from, and they're all up-to date and look good.

Squats - http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Ian%27s_Squats_%28IG%29 - were built for a tournament last year. I've got a load more REAL squat models though, and if I updated them for this I'd include many more real oop models. Just to see the look on the collective great big face of GW.

Arbites - http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Ian%27s_Arbites_Army - were built years ago and are in need of a good update. New bases, a bit of squad reorganisation and some touching up of the details should see them through. This tourney would be a great excuse to get started on that. Of course, there's always the possibility that the Witchhunters Codex will be completely obsolete by August....

I voted Arbites cos I love their fluffyness . . . But Sqauts are a close second, if you use them you would have to take pictures of the staff's faces =p

I had to go with Daemons, as I'm going too and would like to cut my teeth against as many different armies as possible.

That said though, Squats are a kickback to my early days and I'd be happy for them to grace the halls of WW once more!
