Tutorial on skintones. This technique can be achieved with any two colors. Mixed gradually to make the highlights and low-lights.
[Thumb - 004.JPG]
First a basecoat of dark brown, scorched brown was used here.

[Thumb - 013.JPG]
Next a mix of 1:3 scorched brown and dwarf flesh. apply this leaving the basecoat in the deepest recesses.

[Thumb - 017.JPG]
Next mix in more dwarf flesh, about a 2:3 ratio on this one. Apply this, again leaving some of the previous coat showing. This will naturally highight and make a blend.

[Thumb - 019.JPG]
Now mix in even more dwarf flesh, about a standard brush's worth of paint into the mix and apply like the above steps.

[Thumb - 022.JPG]
Now go through with a mix of even more dwarf flesh and hit just the very top edges. This will leave you with the desired effect and highlight of skin.

CONTINUED
[Thumb - 030.JPG]
Proceed, and add One last brush load of Dwarf flesh to the mix and apply this in passes, Very small amounts just on the edging highlights, Cheek bones, Bridge and tip of the nose, and the bags under eyes.

[Thumb - 032.JPG]
I choose not to add Straight flesh to my skin tones, It seems to bright so i stop at the last highlight and add a small amount of red gore to the mix, and with this I pass over the lips. I also dot the eyes with white.

[Thumb - 037.JPG]
The final step is to dot the eyes with black, add another small amount of red gore to the lips, focusing on the middle, and paint the teeth in white, and your done!

Any other Techniques just let me know. And as I said, this flesh technique works with basically any two colors, as long as it is a complete contrast. Green-white, brown-to white or flesh, even green to yellow and flesh. Adding another color to the mix as you proceed through the steps always makes more of a statement. I will sometimes add blues, and reds as I mix.

Looks brilliant! I have to say, if you've got any techniques for weathering infantrymen, that would be great for a tutorial, if you make it could you send me a link because it'd be mightily helpful!

Well, it's for my eButcher, so about the size of a marine (It's red armor and preferably without using metallic paints as I'm using NMM)
