In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

I'm sorry, I feel like an idiot for having to ask but I haven't been keeping up with current (non-Warmachine) events... What's the scale of Mantic's models? And if possible, can anyone provide a size comparison pic of a Mantic model to say, a space marine or such?

The same as GW (28mm "heroic" scale) but they do look a little different on the table... especially the elves. The ghouls stand in perfectly but the elves are more like LOTR elves, long-limbed and spindly, than the GW elves which are slim humans.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

The elves are pretty small compared to space marines. If they are 28mm heroic, then the elves stand 4ft 6inches and weigh in at about 85lb.

Am not convinced they are heroic scale.
Was under the impression that they were more true scale.

May be wrong but the heads and hands look more in proportion.
Same re LoTR figures.

Ah my mistake. The elves certainly do look more true-scale, I haven't bought any of those as yet though.

The dwarves appear closest to their GW-scale counterparts, though Mantic's design has different proportions.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Good to know as I'm actually considering picking up some of the Dwarf crossbowmen from Mantic to use.

So just to make my eyes know what my brain is being told, could someone post a picture of say, a Mantic skeleton next to a GW one?

I can be of service there, though my pictures are of the Mantic skeletons next to some older GW skeletons, not the current ones:

Blimey those old Skellies are thinner than the spearshafts!
Do they get cover saves from their weapons?

I posted some of my table-top quality work with Mantic stuff here.

Along with scale.

I haven't taken pictures of the elves, but I have 2. They are tiny compared to Reaper Miniatures or GW Fantasy miniatures.

The Dwarves, unlike the more truescale elves and undead, are bulkier than GW short santas

The actual scale is 28mm, as opposed to GW 28mm Heroic (read deformed) which is closer to 30mm (it's a mix of 32mm and 28mm proportions).

The metal mounted Vampire Lord is WAAAAAAY smaller than GW-scaled figures. I would put it closer to 25mm than 35mm.

Where did the 35mm come from?
Please don't confuse me Robert, I can do that myself!

Have been doing a little bit of dwarf designing in prep for a future dwarf project. In thinking about Dwarves as a distinct hominoid race rather than small humans with long beards, I have to say that Mantic Dwarves get my vote now.
I wasn't wholly convinced previously, and still feel that some aspects of the GW design are better.
Overall I think I will be buying Mantic and converting where necessary. The only thing is I wish they hadn't gone with the heraldic shield type, but I guess i can live with it.

Maybe 35mm is the height of most mounted characters? I dunno
