What this forum is for!

40K Background Forum is for serious discussion and research of the 40K background stories known as fluff.

This includes asking and answering sensible questions about life in the 40K era, which might relate to all kinds of Imperial and Xeno military or civilian life providing your discussion remains based in the “serious” 40K universe.

What is this forum not for?

Your SM Chapter stories. These should go in Dakka Fiction.
Space versus Halo/Modern Earth/Star Trek and so on. These should go in General Discussion.
Humorous ideas like the Disco Marines. These should go in General Discussion.

Users are requested:

A. To bear these guidelines in mind when posting.
B. To yellow flag (Yellow Alert Triangle Button) posts in the wrong forum. This lets the moderators know they should check and perhaps move the thread. Please note that the moderators may not share your opinion about a thread. We still want to see your flags, though.
C. Not to argue too much about what is canon. The 40K fluff is deliberately loosely written and should be considered a collection of myth, fable, propaganda and history told from many different viewpoints.
D. Not to persistently flout these guidelines as this will be considered as spamming the forum, and will attract moderator action.

Thanks for reading.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Great guidelines! I'm very happy to see this and am particularly impressed by the wording.

Otherwise what Manchu said and goodluck chaps.

(You may liquidate this post if you wish as it will add little to the Sticky)

Noted and amended.

I'll lock the thread now and let's hope it will do some good.
