Well, after much thought I decided to finally join the ranks of Dakkites that have a P&M thread. I've got a handful of things in progress and I'm about to start up an entire new army. At least a small 1,000 point force of Astral Claws. There will be more on that later.

Here are some WIP pics.

Here is a nice piece of terrain that I've been working on. I wanted to have some terrain that didn't give a ton of concealment, was difficult to traverse, but still added to the board.

This is a new unit I'm working on called the Ashurbani. If you're reading any of my dakka fiction then you'll have probably heard of them already.

This is a killa kan that I'm painting up for National Gaming day at the local library. I'll be playing with my gaming group to try and advertise Warhammer to some new people.

Lastly, this is my birthday present from August that has been patiently been waiting to be painted. I love the new predator kit, btw. This is hardly glued together at all, all the bits fit nicely together so I can easily take it apart to paint. I am really excited about this bad boy causing havoc on the field.

At any rate, that is what I'm working on. I'd love any sort of feedback as I go along, the goal is to improve my skills and actually get these guys done in a timely manner.

Also, if any one has any good suggestions on painting Astral Claws I'd love it. That's another thing I'll be working on in the near future.

Hey Ice, very jealous that you have a Baal, I'm selling things left right and centre at the moment for funds but I think at least some of it may be directed towards that kit.

Glad to see you have decided to furnish us all with a blog also, I will watch with anticipation for your up coming projects.

Good luck on the blog the stuff so far is looking great.

First off, I finally complete Brother Inigo's base. Lennysmash had sent him to me from the marine swap and I think he looks great. Better now that he fits on the battlefield.

Next is a piece of the terrain that i've been working on. As we all know, terrain is all about the details. I added lots of good bits when I put it together and I've slowly been painting them. I wanted the skull to look a bit more weathered, but I need to find some inspiration on what happens in extreme colds to bones and scrap metal. This at least gives you an idea of where it's at right now.

Suggestions are welcome.

It will be interesting to see faces fitted to names.

The terrain looks good, I don't know if you're planning on making much more but a board that resembles the more "space hulk/random space junk" side of Shattermantle would be cool.

I wish I was home, I miss not being able to make terrain.

A game board should be flat. The details as a separate piece so you can move them around. Otherwise you will eventually get board of the game board.

If its a diorama then go nuts. 8)

The terrain is actually just of a some cold planet that is infested with orks the Ice Angels just happen to be attacking. That is a good idea, I am not sure why I never thought of creating some of the surface of Shattermantle. I may have to think about that some more.

Any suggestions?

Terrain looks good. I havent seen any non-IA from you, so im interested to see what else you do and to see if the GMS has changed anything in your models.

Btw, you should hit the yellow triangle and have the mods move this to P&M blog if its going to be a continual thing.

First of all before I begin with some WIP pictures I felt the need to explain my WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH PHUNGUNZ. Warlord Phungunz doesn't believe in uniforms he believes in gunz so his boyz don't ever seem to match. Here are a few pictures of some of his boyz. They are done except for their bases, but you'll get a good idea of what I am shooting for with my orks.

Any ways, the idea was that in my gaming group we would all contribute some orks. Paint them however we wanted and use them as a house army. This is something we haven't been doing for very long so you're looking at nearly all of the painted ones. We've got maybe 1200 points worth of orks in total. This is my WIP picture of my killa kan. I still need to do his legs and finish up his gun. The tyranid on the base needs a bit more work as well, other then that though he is coming along quite nicely.

The crashed and partially stripped hulls of ships (maybe work in a few LED lights to give the impression that some stuff is still working), some abandoned vehicles half incased in ice, said occupants of those vehicles frozen solid lying in the snow a few paces from the vehicle, some hatches that look to have been opened recently by something >.>

A little figure of Han Solo slicing open a tom tom and telling a delusional Luke how bad he thought they smelled on the outside.

Christmas is coming up, do those cans of spray snow that you use on your trees work good for decking out terrain in snow?

I was thinking a frozen transformer is a block of ice. Maybe just the top part even. Megatron if your a fan of the new movies, Jetfire if you liked the old show.

Well near the end of last week I finished up the orks I was working on. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of them, but I did manage to get some work done on one of my Ice Angels. This is Hunzuu the sergeant of the Ashurbani Veteran Unit. I've still got quite a bit to do on him but I like the way the purple turned out on him. These death company bits have a ton of stuff on them so I think they'll be taking me a bit longer then usual. I may be able to get a couple done before all of my Astral Claw bits start showing up. Then this unit will be put on the back burner for several months.

OKAY, some of my previous WIP's are being put on hold, because I now have to work on my Adepticon Force. I have until April to make 1,000 points of Astral Claws. I am going to be starting with a nice tactical squad. So far this is what I've have completed.

lol, I am going to have other space marine chapters represented on the display bases and board. I haven't quite decided on giving this guy an arm or not, but for now he looks good and dead. There is still going to be a layer of sand and static grass, but do you think I should give him an arm, or shoulder pad, or leave him as is?

WM, I agree with you. So I did this.

I like it except for the scratch built hand, I may have to switch that out. That's actually a left hand, you know the one that holds up a missile launcher? It doesn't look natural, but I think over all it looks better with the shoulder pad. The guy that will be on the base is going to be jumping off the shoulder pad.

While working on that I was checking out another model, but I am left a little............................perplexed.

Pardon the terrible picture, but I unearthed two of these guys from my ancient bitz box. I don't really have a good way to cut pewter, so I am unsure on whether or not I should suck it up and buy a tool, or if there is a decent way to make this guy look good without it. I don't have a specific weapon combo in mind for him in mind, I just wanted to use the old armor. Suggestions?

For Mr. in the ground, Maybe if you used he arm to the elbow, and sunk it into the ground it would work out. Or if you made the hand holding onto something, like a knife or a gun.

Depending on what you really want to do with the pewter model, Id say you could probably cut him up, but you will most likely ruin part of him. It would be pretty easy to turn 2 static looking guys into one less static one though.

WITH THE RIGHT ARMS, YOU CAN SORTA CONVEY A SENSE OF MOTION EVEN WITH A COMPLETELY STRAIGHT TORSO AND LEGS
sorry about the capitals, i didn't realise my caps-lock was on and cbf to retype it
for example, you could have a raised, pointing sword, as if hes challanging an enemy to a duel

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Okay, time for another update. First of all I have this lovely pair of vehicles that is going to be converted into Astral Claw vehicles. They are ancient rides with a terrible paint job that I am glad I finally have motivation to strip, repair, and repaint.

Here is another WIP of my first group of Astral Claws. I should have them primed and some paint on them soon, I hope.

Here is a very rough WIP, but I wanted to get some thoughts on the stripes. I love the way the orange has turned out, but I am very unsure of how to pull off the tiger stripes. Thoughts?

I almost forgot to mention, the white and blue guy in the background is Brother Desai that Sageheart had sent me. I've finally gotten around to basing him.
