Since today was WINTER KILLSTORM 2.0 or whatever, I wasn't exactly going to go out and game or, well, do much of anything outside my house. As a result I figured I may as well paint the Leman Russ that's been sitting in a cabinet for three years!

How I began around 4pm (after some basecoating):

And how I finished around 8:30:

And I figured I'd take a few with his buddies:

The lenses on the bottom of the tank are some of the best lenses I've ever painted, if not THE best. I like painting lenses. The tarp that's tied onto the track guard was basically a test to see if I'd like that color/technique for my Steel Legion, and I do! Hope you guys got some painting in on this snowday too!

Weathering powders or oil paint weathering!

A small amount of extra effort will take you very very far since you've done such a great job on the fundamentals -

KSDJHFDKFJH posts like this are everywhere!!!

OP your tanks look GREAT, you DO NOT need to make them look weathered and beaten. I think they look good the way it is. If you want to add it go ahead, but dont do it because other people think tanks NEED to look like that

And how is your post any different than mine?? Don't be a hypocrite.

And, I didn't say he NEEDS to do anything, it's suggestion based on my opinion and like of a popular advanced technique, no more, no less. Of course the OP can do what he likes based on his own tastes! Did the cool weathering kids at school beat you up or something lol?? That was a fekking enormous overreaction on your part dude jeez...

Op, whatever makes you happy dude, as I said in the first post, they already look great!

Thanks for the comments guys! I've looked briefly into weathering powders, but not terribly hard. I like my tanks how they look, but weathering would be a nice "next step" to take before too long. Any good tutorials you could recommend MajorTom?

And KRUDD, don't worry, I'm just curious about weathering powders and the like - don't expect these tanks to change

Theres a bunch of techniques, fortunately the military and scale modelling community has been at it for years, most techniques are pretty easy, in that after you set up you can bang out tanks in a few minutes without worrying too much about being messy. Some are more advanced though, it's really about finding your comfort level!

p.s thanks very much for not taking my suggestion the wrong way, I hope at least you know I didn't mean anything offensive whatsoever!
