Hey, I can finally post again!

So here's what I got.  It's a World Eaters army.

HQ - Bloodthirster

Troops - 6 X 8 Squads of Bloodletters

Fast Attack - 8 Khornate Bikers w/ Free Aspiring Champion, who has Daemon chains.  The whole Squad has the MoK,  Feel no pain, and Khornate Chainaxes.  There are two meltaguns in the squad.

The plan is fairly simple - boost 18'', summon bloodthirster who is my icon, and drop bloodletters everywhere.

I'm not planning on varying this much, but I was wondering if I should switch out 1 or 2 of the bloodletter squads for some flesh hounds, just for the added mobility.  I'm not sold on them though, as they only cost 6 points less and don't get the power weapons.  If any one has any thoughts on this, please let me know.

BTW, hello to everyone that remembers me.

Thanks,

MegaDave

So I had to change it a bit, and i played a few games with it, currently 4-0.

HQ - Bloodthirster

Elite - 8 Asp. Champs, with bikes, one who has Daemon chains. The whole Squad has the MoK, Daemon Armo, Daeon Strength, Furious Charge, Feel no pain, and Axes of Khorne. There are two meltaguns in the squad.

Troops - 4 X 8 Squads of Bloodletters

Fast Attack - 8 Flesh Hounds

The bikers are extremely resilient as long as I turbo boost and get the 2+ inv save. I played Chaos Marines and Orks and only lost 8 and 9 models respectively. I then played two games against Necrons and caused them to phase out both times and took about 18 casualties each game. So far I am extremely impressed, but I can see problems if the army is very spread out.

And just for the record, I'm not trying to ressurect a dead thread or anything, It's just that I can only post on Weds and Thurs.

Thanks to everyone that alerted me to not being able to take stuff on regular bikers. Guess I need to get new contact prescriptions.

Thanks,

MegaDave

Out of curiosity - how many points is that - aboiut 2000? I like the list though.

Wow, just how many points is each biker in that squad!!!

Crazy. Just crazy enough it seems to work though.
Against most things they will be pretty tough.

Plasma - 14-15 hits to kill a biker. 30 BS 3 plasma guns!

It's 1850.

Ummm, around 90-100 points apiece. The most I've ever lost in a game is 4!

I really want to play daemonhunters and see how they do against them.

Thanks,

Well, I do think your army is probably very effective, but I would  advise you to try and put in at least 1 super defilers, they will definately add some punch to deal with a large variety of opponents. . .

Their extremely tough with their av 13, ignore stunning and shaken, and auto repair. . .

(super defiler: Parasitic Infestation, Demonic Possesion)

I have really been reccomending these alot for chaos armies because I have had alot of trouble getting rid of them. . .

Doesn't escalation muck things up somewhat?

The defiler might work as a misdirection tool but the most I'd spend on it is indirect fire at 25 pts.

Escalation ruins biker demonbombs. Reason being that by the time you come out, all of your demons are coming in the next turn - all of them. So if your opponent surrounds you with vehicles or even other cheap units, you could easily lose all or large portions of your demons. And failing that you could have to march them across the field.

With 50% of the GT games being escalation I'm gonna say that infiltration demonbomb is probably the best reliable bet, but this isn't about a GT army I guess

Easier said then done - bikes are pretty mobile and if you get them dopwn turn two you are fine. He cannot surround you wioth troops unless he wants to get slaughtered and the thirstyer will deal with tanks. I think its a pretty viable list one shot list - you will get a resounding victory or massacred. Personally, I think Khorne biker bomb is the way to go - I do like those emp children's lists. I use a pred in my bomb list, btw. If it survives until turn two it can be very useful.

hmmm. . . I wonder if sonic rifles or blastmasters would be fun to use on bikes? Sounds damned nasty!!!

Whats your plan against "all mounted" armys and against "all Drop Pods"? Both may force you to deploy the demons without anything to charge if I understand correctly. Drop Pods for example may give you first turn and then later land far away from your bikes, while attacking you with Assault Cannons from range (Tornados and Terminators).
