You use anything to keep your checkerboard/faceplate colors straight? Or do you just make a line and freehand it carefully?

good question!
i put down my base coat first (graveyard earth for this one) and then sketch out the checks using a sepia wash. If you mess up its easy to cover up.

The models look amazing! I especially like the rusted look around the faceplate, gives it just the right appearance but isn't too drastic to draw away from the model.

im going to run some wire from the back of his head ( as soon as i find some wire thin enough) back into the hatch area. dunno exactly what I want to do/make that look just yet, but thats my goal.

Normally, when people do colorful Deff Dreads, they come out very clean and un-Orky. I have a friend who does that and he says that it's ok because the Orks just make the Grots clean the vehicles. Yours, however, somehow manages to strike a balance between colorful and weathered, which makes it pretty unique. I have to respect all the checkerboard on there (I know how long that takes... whew!), and I also think your color selection is right on. Great work all around.

Wow, this is eye popping good. It's converted enough to be featured in the Ork codex section of conversions, but it looks sharp and clean enough to look like an actual feature piece in the codex.
