Hey guys just been painting away after my first batch of DE models came in. Had thought about a color scheme for a while and decided to go with a red theme. 3 wyches done, not sure if I'm going to redo the bases. Have also finished a jetbike and currently working on my raider so maybe some more pics later. Any C&C welcome, this is my 2nd army, first being wood elves about 80% painted so I do have a little experience and would love tips on technique.

How did you do their skin? I've been trying to get it right on my DE but can't seem to get a decent colour.

Well I was not sure what to do with the skin either O.o. I had read to use primarily dheneb stone but I didn't have that so I basecoated with a mix of 2/3 fortress grey and 1/3 elf flesh, then wash lightly with badab black, layer with the same mix but with a little less elf flesh then wash with either gryphonne sepia or ogryn flesh. I am about to try it with ogryn flesh, the wych you see on the right in the pics was done with sepia and I tried different washes on all 3 just to find one I liked but I think I like sepia best. Have read that ogryn flesh looks good though and am gonna try it after I finish my raider ^^. Then after the last wash I mix 2/4 fortress grey with 1/4 elf flesh and 1/4 skull white for highlights.

Still a process that is evolving for me as I'm new to paint mixing.

I've been using Dheneb Stone -> Codex Grey + Elf Flesh -> Badab black but they just look to dark, hopefully your method will be better
