Here is the finished Kroot Weaponsmith I intend to use in place of the Jokaero model. If I ever want to spam a Jokaero list, I would want multiple models with multiple poses, and I simply do not like the Jokaero model. This is a lot cheaper, too. I wanted to keep the Tau technology look strong, in case the model could ever fit into the new Tau codex, when and if it comes out this year. It could possibly work as a Vespid, but that would be stretching it a bit. I may make at least a couple dozen more of these, I already have all the bits from Kroot and Tau models. The fist is from an AT-43 Karman, with a Tau sensor and some brass rod for the digital weapons. I'll certainly make a unit of 10 and an Inquisitor Krooteaz model just to try the list out at the 500 point level before I decide whether it will be worthwhile to make any more. Regardless, a unit of 10 will fit in very well with my Kroot Mercenary army in Apocalypse battles for some much needed long range support.

The paint job is really nice.

I'm not sure how well it will fit in an imperial army though. I kinda wish the legs were shorter or repositioned to make it different from your average kroot. Or maybe doing something different with the quills (removing them or adding more).

I'm sure I'll throw in some multi-pose legs with the rest of the unit, the Kroot limbs are very friendly to repositioning due to their length and thinness. The Kroot on the left in this picture has some legs that are bent a little more drastically and will be something I certainly try again with the Weaponsmiths. Also, I can't tell if your compliment on the paintjob was sarcastic or not, but yes, it is the first Kroot model I've ever dipped, I'm so ashamed...

Lol. I don't know what's more ridiculous, that the Emperor's ultra-elite mega ultra ultra mega forces rely on monkeys with laser fingers, or kroot...

"The ultimate demon of khorne threatened to destroy 5,000 imperial worlds at a single stroke. To stop him was inquisitor Sixtus, who entered into a mighty battle one-on-one with the demon. Trillions of human lives were at stake. As the battle came to the end, Sixtus was nearly slain.

Except then a kroot showed up with a laser finger and finished off the demon. Humanity was saved. The end."

Looks well painted, you could almost give them a lighter coat of orange/brown so that you could say they have a 'light' fuzz of fur over them

Indeed! With that you get all of the following:
-A much cheaper alternative
-Lots of poses
-Easy to convert
-Can be used in your Tau army (if you have one)
-Doesn't look like garbage (Jokaero, I'm talking to you!)

Kroot Mercs can certainly fit the bill. Good job!

There aren't that many rings to just hand out like Halloween candy. The ring chooses you, not the other way around.

"The ring chooses you" sounds like a cross between the harry potter scene in the wand shop and a scene from LOTR

I like the blue war paint on it's face. Is it possible to see a few different angles? I'm interested in seeing the 'digital weapon' arm from the other side
