Just wanted to show off my mephiston conversion I did for one of my clients over at PaintPLZ. I really wish I took more pictures of him before I sent him back to the client, but I was playing with my new camera and could not get it to focus for the life of me!

I have seen this conversion before.
I really like the pose, but the face is too "vampiric" for my taste.

Besides that it is awesome. Great paintjob too.
I like...

Loving the sword, but other wise he is to Demon like, hes not a Space marines, dont really like this model, if it had less demons on it and a better face it would look awsome!

I agree, I think way to many people are attracted to the whole vampiric story line of the Blood Angels. That seems to be something that GW tried to omit from the latest Codex for the Blood Angels.

Nice work!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

I think he's too overtly vampiric for my tastes. The vampirism is more alluded to in the BA 'dex rather than out and out being Vampire Counts transposed in the year 40,000.

I would definitely change the head, and maybe cut down on the leering faces all over the place. Painting is good though.

My client wanted an old school vampire feel to the model, since we make fun of him playing his space vampires .

Thanks for all of the positive feedback regarding the paint job

while i see the skill and effort that went into the model, i agree that its just TOO vampiric for my personal tastes (and that's coming from a person whose favorite BA pic is the old vampire mephiston standing in front of an abbey with bats from 2nd edition).

I like it as vampiric! I just wonder how it would look next to other marines, seems like it might be a little to small for the heroic properties it has, namely tyhe legs for example, with the spiny toes, seem like they might look little versus regular marines?

Overall I really like it! I think Mephiston ought to look vampiric like that! I think the model also needed an update from the old one they resurrected from the 90s.

Good job!

lol, resurrected? it never died! muhwwaaa! i think the old one (also the current one) is one of the best sculpts of second edition (along with the DA special characters). granted, it doesn't look as snappy next to most of the newer metals but it holds its own. i have seen some cool conversions though based on the astorath model though that have both an old school and updated feel.

Not enough Khorne symbols on it, but otherwise I like it!
