This is my Ghazghkull that I take a massive amount of pride in. He took me about a week of constant work. I love it and everyone loves it at my local hobby store, now I want to know you guys think. Thanks guys

The bit I like most are the horns on this piece. They look very natural (trust me, this is coming from someone who's initials are R.A.M, and let me tell you I paint alot of rams and goats for my warheard!)

What is the story behind the gob there?

I for one like his festive teeth.

The black armour has a nice texture in the photos as well.

The story behind the gob is I was sitting at my model table painting him and watching TV, and his gob kept falling off so I glued it like 5 or 6 times and I finally got it to stay. Then I had no ideas how what scheme I was going to paint him. As I turned to watch some TV a commercial comes on for a circus. From then on, I decided that on all my Orks I was going to use a lot of color variation and Ghazghkull being the biggest and baddest Ork he got the funniest colors.

For us non-orks, is the gob the mouth piece?

Really nicely done. I don't normally like Black armoured Ghaz (mainly because i saw a red one first, so kind of think thats how it should be, if you know what i mean) but this really works, and the extra added colour is a nice touch.

how is this masterclass?

I've got to say that while I'm not a huge fan of the actual Ghazghkull mini you've done a fantastic job with it.

This is a picture actually before I found out how to do battle damage. Now he looks even better.

Agreed, this is not 'Masterclass' in common terminology, there is still a long way to go for that.

BUT

This clearly is a milestone for you, and the paint and scheme are solid and clean. I'd say you have nailed the fundamentals very well, and are ready to take the next steps into more advanced painting techniques. I see good things from you in the near future!

You have made quite a good start, its a bit too clean in places, the wiring for example. I agree the pants need re- painting, green just doesnt work. The rainbow Iron Gob is just awful sorry, I'd rethink that too.

The overall paint job is very good, very neat, however imo bits need reworking, and it just doesnt feel orky enough for me.

Gosh, so negative your hurting my feelings . Just kidding, the rainbow gob is a joke, its not supossed to be one bit serious. Also I thought the "pants" was his skin, so I painted it green. I really just thought he was naked inside that Mega Amour .

I think it's funny how he's "going commando." Not bad work though.

While it would be funny if he was naked (it really would) I still think it looks a little weird. And I understand that the gob is a joke but it doesn't change the fact that it just doesn't look very good, sorry to say. It just doesn't fit with the rest of him. I really think you should re-paint it seriously if you are that proud of this model, because he really does look great and the gob just kind of ruins him.

Good job dude. "Masterclass" is a bit self congratulatory; keep humble with your painting, it'll help you keep improving.

It's a very nice clean paintjob, though there are a few things I'd do personally:

1: Get some mithril silver and edge a lot of the metal with it. Then do little flecks for chips to paintwork and scratched in the metal.
2: Add another green/yellow mix highlight to his skin. Use the brush in a flicking motion to layer it unevenly; looks more natural.
3: Add a single dot of skull white to his eye(s).
