here is my guard army. i went with a tiger paint scheme for Al Rahem's 3rd Tigers. the quad chainsword is my claw of the tiger, and Al's holding it. the blue figure is Marbo (he's custom). also, the tarantula's, commissar, 3 rapier batteries, and destroyer tank hunter are there. just look closely. the baneblade is the old resin forgeworld model. i put a big tiger mouth on it for kicks, as well as a twin heavy stubber with armor shield on top of the turret.

Wow that is erm . . .Bold I like your style. Try thinning your paints as they look like they are going on a liittle thick. As for a unique and eye catching scheme mission well and truely accomplished

If your going to do something wrong, do it right!!!!

That must have taken an age dude! That is one hell of an army, I do like the colour scheme, but it does look like you need to thin your paints a little.

But overall a damn fine job. It's no mean feat to paint up an IG army that large!

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

I... Like it

It's old skool, which makes the whole army awesome, but the paint is too thick...

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

here's the kicker... it was already mostly painted, and i re painted it in 4 days. the vehicles were primed with spray paint orange and white. i think the orange came out a little thick. then i drybrushed them macharius solar orange, striped them with shadow grey, and went over the shadow grey with chaos black. did the guns boltgun and black inked it. wiped off the ink and done.

the troops were fast too. cloth chaos black, armor blazing orange. drybrush the orange with the macharius solar orange, paint black stripes, paint white over the black. bronzed flesh, and flesh wash. boltgun tidbits.

as for thick paint, you mean the white or black or what? remember this was speedpainted and already the 2nd or 3rd coat of paint. i consider it table quality, and some fo it needs touchups. but for all things considered i wanted bold, eye catchy, uniformed, unique, and something that i could say "yea.. i took tigers literally. lol"

this is the army before i re primed it. i was going with valhallan, but the colors were getting old, and that paintshceme took forever.

thanks, it sounds like i did alrighty. i'm working on some rough riders, a couple platoon standards, and a couple commissars now. i figured that'd take care of the leadership bubble and spread a little flare around in the ranks.

As far as the thick paint goes, you can strip the paint off of models. But I still think that scheme is pretty sweet.

i like the paint scheme, but i'm not going to sugar coat it. you need to re paint pretty much all of the troops. the tanks look good, although a grey drybrush would do wonders, but the infantry leave a lot to be desired. also the tiger's claw looks kinda stupid, no-one would, or could, wield that. i suggest you buy the actual al'rahem model and use that. sorry if it seems a little harsh, but i figured you needed to hear my honest opinion so that you can strive to make your army as good as it can be

It looks good from a distance.
strip and repaint the troops, as they aren't even table-top standard.

The paint looks ok but on your next batch of mini's I would suggest thinning your paints. They seem pretty thick as is.

I also found your signature pretty ironic for multiple reasons.

i would hardly say it isnt table quality. i'd like to see someon else crank out that much in as little time. besides, i'm not a perfectionist. they have 3 colors, flock, and are wyswyg. that's table quality in my book. plus it's guard. stuff dies so fast it's not like it's gonna be on the table the whole game to be ooh'ed, and ahh'ed. lol

iv'e also collected more infantry, rough riders, made some banners, have some airplanes to proxy, and some miscellaneous stuff since i took the pictures, so now i have even more ig crap.lol

as for al's quad chainsword... i dont care if anyone could wield it in real life.. over the top is what it's all about. it's a bright orange army with tiger stripes... what could be more over the top? a quad chainsword. it's a futuristic fantasy game anyways, so realism is out the window from get go. lol.

as for the cleanliness of the troops, when i get a chance/ feel like it i'll go through and clean them up, but for now they're painted.

thanks for the comments. even the critical ones. i have had some of the same opinions rumbling around my head as well, but i guess that's what this section is for.

keep em comin.
