To start this post please understand I am not necessarily complaining just pointing out something interesting I found in the comments on GW's facebook page. It's a petition against their yearly and now every six-month price increase. I signed it just for the hell of it, don't get me wrong I came into this hobby with GW and I'll probably leave it with GW, but I'll be damned if it's gonna be price that forces me out. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/gwpricerises/ I'm just the messenger, so please don't fill this post with a bunch of anger and hate. Seriously people, why the hell are you wasting your time with this crap? How many times do you have to be told that GW does not care about online petitions? NO COMPANY DOES. You couldn't possibly do anything more pointless than organizing an online petition.

Write a letter instead. They'll still ignore it, but there's a good chance they might actually read it before throwing it in the garbage.

BTW if you don't wanna hear anger and hate then don't post links to online petitions. Though I'll admit I might have come off a little too dickish here, but I have no regrets.

Signed. Because I feel strongly about it, and whether or not it has an effect, it can't hurt to sign, and I can say I tried.

I'd love to help, but the point is valid: it's not going to help! There's nothing illegal about raising your prices, so the law's not on our side. Also, there's no way GW just did this without actually thinking about it... whatever their motives are, they're going to have to stick to them, unfortunately :( for us

It would probably be easier to push GW to reveal why it increased the prices.

Simple- GW knows you will pay regardless and if sales goes down then another 20% price increase will be forced to be given to cover lost sales to maintain profits

Anyone want to take bets as to what the price rises will be next year (or even this fall)? They have been doing two price rises a year for the last few years now. I bet a Ork Battlewagon will be $69.00-$74.00 by June 2012.

Going to have to rewrite that letter of complaint yet again. I'm beginning to think this is their strategy. Keep releasing bad news and soon we won't see the wood for the trees.

Yea I agree, online petition is a way for saying "I dont really care what actually happens" imo.

Yes, I get too bored sometimes, and theres an ulterior motive since I'd dump the sign and go meet friends from that neck of the woods.

Vote with your wallets people. Stop buying GW stuff and treat yourselves to that something else you keep meaning to buy instead will be the only petition they will pay attention to.

If I was a big company I'd *definitely* pay attention to a petition that the petitioners couldn't even be arsed to proofread...

GW is probably behind the petition

I fixed my GW problem (price) by

1 - buying cheaper alternative miniatures
2 - using simplified rules and smaller skirmish games (40k in 40 min if some of you remember cheap and still fun)
3 - always carry a PDF printout of codex and army books inside their stores (I own a lot of GW books but I always love how annoyed the staff are when you bring printouts of their army books inside GW store)

ps - All of you who are complaining where were you when GW released INQUISITOR I loved that game but not many people played - it was cheap and really fun

The only petition that GW is going to respond to is the one where people stop buying their products. I had been planning a CSM army, even picked up the battleforce. Now I'm not certain that I didn't waste my money.

I signed it. Everyone keeps saying that they wont cause it wont work. That attitude is why it wont work. If you dont try to do something, then you really have no right to complain about it.

This is a fairly commen attidude in modern western culture. People will complain to end about something, but wont lift a finger to try and change it.

And as a side note about the comment "surveys are worthless" mentality, Bell Internet here in Canada tried to get legislation passed that would see independent companies that resell bandwidth from allowing them to offer unlimited monthly bandwidth caps. Guess what, enough people signed it that the legislation was dropped. So keep typing and allowing these things to happen and just think, you could have tried to help.

Sending letters would be more impactful.

Not buying GW anymore would be most impactful.

An online petition doesn't do anything. The internet is for nerdrage and porn, and I've had my fill of nerdrage...
