I am asking, partly form myself, and partly for the information of others.
How do you write a good RP that will continue successfuly, and how do you become a good GM.
I have thought about creating a RP myself, after a few have died down, but I want to be informed first.
Thanks for any advice.

im not an expert,as all mine fall apart. from what ive learned 1st thing you need is active players who will continue to post.
be detailed. dont need to write a short story like the cat,but dont write small events either.
more i could say,but ill leave that to more experienced GMs.

Well, I know mainly what a good GM needs to be, mainly as I have hung around with the best that are on offer...
... take a few leaves out of FITZZ's book...
... you need to be dedicated, as in doing events on time. You need to have good dedicated players who post fairly often, and you need to try and write good events...
... of course, you also need to know where the storyline is going, you need to have good info about the story in the OP, and you need yo, most importantly, make sure everybody is having fun!
That is all I can really think of right now...

You need to have a spontaneous burst of imagination, and BAM! An idea is created. I find the long, planned-out ideas tend to crumble, unless based off previous escapades into the depths of the collective imaginations of a group of willing players.
Camaraderie between the players is very important.
An acceptable grasp of grammar and fictional writing is basically required.
It needs to be something unique.
You need to be very organised and have all the relevant information readily available and accessible for yourself and the players.
You need to present yourself well.
You need to keep your players in line and make sure the thread doesn't become cluttered with off-topic.
Keep the players in the dark (some more than others).
Either inspire great loyalty between the characters or undermine them; secretly setting them against each other.
Listen to your players and make sure they listen to you.

All that's just what I could think of off the top of my head. Not much, but I don't have much time right now, so it will have to suffice at present.
Generally, the quality of your roleplaying and the roleplays you host will improve as you become more experienced. Definitely play at least 2-3 long-running RPGs before even considering GMing one.

Spontaneous creativity ( as Darko noted) is a big factor when running an RP or simply when taking part in one.
I can't begin to count the amount of times Ive encountered " Well I didn't see that coming." moments (both as a GM and as a participent) and the ability to adapt and create a narrative that works with what's going on is very important.
Going into an RP with a basic idea of what you'd like to see is fine, but you have to maintain a degree of fluidity to keep things moving along .

Thanks for the Advice. I have just joined my third RP, and I seem to be getting better at them as I go along. Maybe, I will be GM one day...

You need to ensure you will retain interest in your own RP no matter what happens/what players you have/etc.

There are some great articles on the Escapist's Check for Traps series that are well worth checking out.
