Just got back from a RTT here in Orlando and I need some HELP.

My first 2 battles I won handily.

The three games each had a seperate scenario/objective and games were on a point basis.

My Evil Sunz Ork Klan list fought the following battles:

Round One (vs. Chaos)
Orks: 18 out of 18 points.
Chaos: 5 out of 18 points.
My opponent was a real good sport, considering I completely wiped his Chaos Beakies off the board by the end of turn 3.

Round Two (vs. Tau)
Orks: 17 out of 18 points.
Tau: 9 out of 18 points.
Had a great opponent, his Tau shot the SNOT out of my force until I pinned him against the back of the board and tore his head off in hand-to-hand.

Round Three (vs. Necron)
Ork: 9 out of 18 points.
Necron: 8 out of 18 points.
Don't let the score fool you, the danged Necron shot me up worse than any Tau player and his C'Tan Lord was chewing me to pieces (I feel lucky I managed to put 3 wounds on the C'Tan. I'd rather face a Necron Army with 2 monoliths then EVER face one of these danged things again.

SO my question is this...

How do orks deal with a mob with a strength and toughness so high, only our heavy weapons can wound it and one that can decide to just 'walk away' from HTH combat if it feels the combat is going to go against it.

I'm up for any thoughts you might have on this one...

What was his Necron count?  That C'tan eats up a LOT of points, so you may have wanted to go for a phase-out.  Was there a monolith in the army too?

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

The Nightbringer can seriously screw Orks over. It's wind crap can blow us out of CC with the Necrons around it and keep us out of combat with him so that the PK nobs can't do their thing to take him down.

Honestly, the only way us Orks have of taking it down aren't with Orks at all, take a group of Kroot Snipers, for 101 points it's easy to fit into your force and it will eat the C'Tan up like dinner.

No monolith, but he had packed all his Necron 'foot' models in one corner of the board and his C'tan and his 8 destroyers on the other corner...

I needed to concentrate my forces to charge into 4 x 11 man squads of necrons and a squad of 'heavy weapon Necrons, but his C'tan kept tying down my units and sniping my characters who could hurt him by charging them and then killing the power claw mobs and then popping out of combat if I could have hurt him ...  it was VERY frustrating being hit by a mob that ignores EVERY armour save ... including my Warbosses 'Cybork body' invuln save !

Should only take about 90 rokkit shots to kill it. Heh.
