Alright, I was playing around with the concept of making a pre heresy world eaters army, and then I though, why not make a combat patrol list with a traited marines list and see what happens. I have NEVER made a combat patrol list before, nor have I played a combat patrol, so this may be absolute crap.

Traits; Take the fight to them and no mercy, no respite

HQ

Reclusiarch w/powerfist 110

Troop

5 Man Tac Squad w/meltagun 100

Fast Attack

5 man Assault Squad, vet sarg w/lightning claws 2 plasma pistols, and melta bombs around 190

total 400

Its low on numbers, real low, at 11, however if i can get my men into combat then I should do well. All of the marines have furious charge and everyone with a bolter has changed it in for a ccw and bolt pistol. My question is, will this list get eaten alive, which I fear it may, but then again it somewhat depends on how i play it i guess. I guess let me know if im an idiot.

dont include a hq in combat patrol, not enough bodies to protect him from getting picked off

drop the lc's on the assault sarge for a powerfist, and the meltabombs as you are unlikely to go against 12 armor and the pistols should do fine

add another tact squad of the same makeup with the points from the chap

increase the size of both to 6

still a relatively low model count but it could work, just make sure to get into close combat, it may be slow because it requires foot slogging the majority and goinf through cover, at all costs protect the assault troops and dont let them get cornered on the flank
