Greetings everyone. I've recently spent a lot of time searching the internet for information about Warhammer 40K after a friend showed me the "Coolminiornot" website and loved the minis I saw on there. I've never played Warhammer 40K and am more interested in painting over playing... at least for now; I might change my mind when I have a full army?!

I've really been drawn to the Space Wolves Chapter being of Scandinavian descent, but want to go about creating a new sub-chapter and am looking for some help or pointers. I don't like the Space Wolves Grey color, instead love the White Scars type of setup, and initially plan on creating a Chapter called the "Arctic Wolves" with a white base, but am unsure about the secondary color, and don't want to copy the Mentor Legion or Praetors of Orpheus, but do want to stick with an icy blue type color or something similar for the shoulder paldrons; so I'm asking if anyone has any ideas? Also, what are some of the easiest models to buy and begin painting to increase my skills? I've watched a lot of different videos, but am always open to pointers.

I am re-deploying from Afghanistan to Washington in about 30 days and plan to hit this new project and hobby hard when I get back, and hope to start a thread to show the progress of the Army and fluff that goes with the new troops, but until then plan on soaking up as much info as possible; so thanks in advance.

Why don't you try a combination of white-silver, white-light gray-silver or white-enchanted blue-silver. You can also try plain white with a blue wash for a more icy look.

Can't wait to see the results.

Ah...almost forgot... welcome to Dakka!

Iron Warriors Army: Enyo Company
Enyo (Greek: Ενυώ, English translation: "warlike" in Greek mythology; Roman: Bellona), was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. She is also identified as his sister, and daughter of Zeus and Hera in a role closely resembling that of Eris; with Homer in particular representing the two as the same goddess. As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities

Thanks guys; I really like the blue wash idea and will try out some different combinations for the troops when I pick up the Battleforce pack to use as my "test" set. I'll definitely create a new thread with photos included when I finally get back and start painting; plus it'll be great to get some input as I move forward with the army.
