Hi,

This is my first project log. I really liked some goat marines I saw once and decided to make some with a Khorne theme. My goal is to make a small maybe 500 point force. I also picked up a forge world Khorne demon which I think with some clever modeling can be turned into a goat. Let me know what you think of these first ones I put together. The next step is going back through to remove mold lines and then touch up with green stuff before painting. I'll keep updating--please feel free to give me ideas too.

Really cool idea that you've pulled off well. The daemon prince really could make a decent goat, though maybe more of a minotaur would fit the bill better? The general proportions of the prince seem to fit a burly bull man better. Hah, probably a moot point though. Bull or goat, it's the same horns and hooves.

I'll be anxiously awaiting updates

I too love this army. I personally think the FW bloodthirster was the best choice for the leader, as the other chaos creatures reasemble their leader. It gives the impression of a daemon lord mutating his chosen to his likeness.

Consider this thread subbed, and the beastman idea stolen!

I always worry about Nurgle players. When you tell them "Your models make me want to vomit" they just smile and say "thanks"

I've finally started painting the Demon Prince and the first twenty beastmarines. Working on assembling and painting another batch of twenty as well.

Wicked stuff. I do enjoy a good beastmen plog, all the better when it has a Khorne theme too

I'm back—lol! I built Forgeworld’s Khorne Daemon Prince and Herald as an HQ for the unit. So finally many years later I decided to revisit the model. I ordered some leg pieces and a head from Mierce Miniatures. I took the clippers to the model’s legs, heads and bone spines. I also had to trim back the pauldrons so that the horns could fit on the new head. I greenstuffed the joins of the bits. My wife sculpted the model a new head out of greenstuff.

To be more reminiscent of the original model, I decided to add a herald. A friend gifted me an awesome tuskgor chariot kit that I haven’t gotten to. The beastlord model from that kit seemed like a perfect fit to be a herald.

Cool work on the dp, your wife did a great job on the head and all the bits mesh together well. The earlier stuff is really cool too, did you manage much on the army in the intervening years?

Thanks, Gobert!

Here is a billboard I put together yesterday. I printed a sticker with the billboard design. (The logo art was borrowed from Mayajid's Metal Beast Mercenaries.)

I call it "Angus Ron" lol. This summer I commissioned this version of Angron from scupltor Raffaele Stumpo and his friend and painter Magobaku. They did a fantastic job bringing my vision to life for this epic model.
